    • A wave absorbing member including a cage-shaped container housing a sponge that imparts resistance to the passing of fuel is arranged inside a tank body. Therefore, an impact by collision of the fuel can be absorbed, noise caused by undulation of the fuel can be reduced, and violent undulation of a fuel level can be effectively suppressed by the wave absorbing member. The wave absorbing member is supported by a pipe that is arranged inside the tank body and passes through a through hole formed in the container. A movement restricting member is provided on the pipe to limit movement of the wave absorbing member along the pipe. Therefore, the wave absorbing member is reliably positioned along the pipe and within the tank body with a simple structure.

    • A dust filter unit for a canister is provided. An inlet port and an outlet port are formed in a housing and opening into the atmosphere. A communication port is formed in the housing and leading to the canister. A filter is arranged within the housing at a location between the inlet port and the output port. A first one-way valve is arranged within the housing at a location between the communication port and the outlet port, for allowing evaporative fuel to flow from the communication port to the outlet port. A second one-way valve is arranged within the housing at a location between the filter and the communication port, for allowing fresh air to flow from the filter to the communication port. Thus, the inlet port, outlet port, communication port, and first and second one-way valves are all provided in one piece within the housing.

    • A rear panel is provided in rear of a connecting wall rising upwardly from a rear end of a front floor panel, and a fuel tank supported within a subframe is disposed beneath a lower surface of the rear floor panel. A gas fume absorbing canister and a muffler are juxtaposed in a lateral direction of a vehicle body in a space which is surrounded by a rear surface of a middle cross-member secured to a rear surface of the connecting wall, a front surface of the fuel tank and the lower surface of the rear floor panel. Thus, it is possible to shorten a purge passage connected from the canister to an engine, to protect the canister from collision against a stepping stone or the like, to insure the volume of a trunk room and to enhance the purging efficiency of the canister utilizing a heat of the muffler by reasonably disposing the canister at a rear portion of the vehicle body.
