    • A control valve for a variable displacement compressor. The control valve has a valve body for regulating a gas passage. A bellows actuates the valve body in accordance with an operating pressure introduced to a pressure sensing chamber. A solenoid biases the valve body with a force based on the electric current supplied to the solenoid. A cylindrical cap is fitted to a cylindrical portion provided on a housing of the control valve. The bellows is located in the pressure sensing chamber. The axial position of the cap in relation to the cylindrical portion is adjusted such that the bellows is positioned at a specific initial position when a pressure having a predetermined magnitude is introduced to the pressure sensing chamber and when a current having a predetermined value is supplied to the solenoid. The cap is secured to the cylindrical portion by crimping with the bellows positioned at the initial position.

    • A compressor has a piston (11) that reciprocates between a top dead center and a bottom dead center in a cylinder bore (2a) by means of a driving body (9) mounted on a rotary shaft (6) in a crank chamber (5) during the rotation of the rotary shaft (6). The piston (11) has an outer circumferential surface that slides against an inner circumferential surface of the cylinder bore (2a). The outer circumferential surface of the piston (11) is provided with a groove (17; 44; 46) extending in the direction of an axis (S) of the piston (11). During reciprocation of the piston (11), lubricating oil adhered to the inner circumferential surface of the cylinder bore (2a) is collected in the groove (17; 44; 46). When the groove (17; 44; 46) is exposed to the inside of the crank chamber (5) from the cylinder bore (2a) during the reciprocation of the piston (11), the lubricating oil in the groove (17; 44; 46) is supplied to the inside of the crank chamber (5). The lubricating oil lubricates the driving body (9) and other parts in the crank chamber (5).

    • A variable capacity type swash plate compressor includes a novel hinge means. The hinge means includes a supporter arm, a main guide pin, and an auxiliary guide pin. The supporter arm is disposed on the rotor projectably therefrom toward the swinging swash plate, and has a main guide hole extending perpendicularly with the driving shaft. The main guide pin is inserted rotatably into the main guide hole. The auxiliary guide pin is inserted slidably into a hole, formed in one of the main guide pin and the swinging swash plate, perpendicularly with the main guide pin at one end, and it is fixed to another one of the main guide pin and the swinging swash plate at the other end. With the hinge means, the top clearances of the pistons can be always maintained virtually uniformly, and the moments resulting from the compression reactive forces can be inhibited from interfering with the discharge capacity control. Additionally, the compressor can attain the reduction in the manufacturing costs.
