    • A numerical controller for a machining center comprising a microprocessor, which selectively executes an automatic programming function and a numerical control function. The microprocessor selectively displays on a CRT display unit various information which instructs an operator to input machining information regarding the blank and finished shapes of a workpiece and the mounting position of the workpiece on a work table. The operator inputs the machining information with a key board-type data input device in response to the information displayed on the CRT screen, and the machining information is stored in a data storage device. Based upon the stored machining information, the microprocessor then displays on the CRT screen the blank shape and the finished shape of the workpiece so that the operator can observe if the machining information has been correctly input. Unless modification of the stored machining information is required, the microprocessor prepares the numerical control (NC) program based upon the stored machining information. The microprocessor, in response to a machining start command, executes the numerical control function and controls the operation of the machining center in accordance with the NC program.

    • A numerical controller for a machining center comprising a microprocessor connected to a data input device, a CRT display device and a data storage device. The microprocessor prepares an NC program for a workpiece to be machined, based upon machining information manually input by the use of the data input device and stored in the data storage device. The debugging of the prepared NC program is then executed, wherein the microprocessor obtains by calculation a workpiece interference space defined outwardly from the outer periphery of the workpiece, based upon workpiece blank shape and dimension data and workpiece mounting position data stored in the data storage device. The microprocessor further calculates, based upon the NC program, a tool path along which a tool spindle of the machining center would be moved relative to a work table in accordance with the NC program. The microprocessor ascertains based upon the tool path, a tool interference space, defined outwardly from the outer periphery of each tool, and the workpiece interference space, whether or not the tool interference space would enter the workpiece interference space in any rapid feed movement if relative movement between the tool spindle and the work table were effected in accordance with the NC program. When detecting the entry of the tool interference space into the workpiece interference space, the microprocessor displays on the CRT screen a message informing an operator of the occurrence of an interference.

    • A battery pack includes a secondary battery including a plurality of cell blocks, a measuring section, a charge and discharge control switch, a protection circuit, and a memory. The measuring section detects a voltage, a current, and an internal resistance, of the secondary battery. The controller monitors the voltage and the current of the secondary battery and outputs a request signal indicative of a charge condition to charge the secondary battery in accordance with the charge condition which is set. The protection circuit monitors voltages of the plurality of cell blocks. The memory registers an initial internal resistance of the secondary battery. The controller calculates a deterioration coefficient by a ratio of the internal resistance detected by the measuring section to the initial internal resistance registered in the memory, and changes the charge condition in accordance with the deterioration coefficient.

    • An ink supplying mechanism includes a circulating system that connects an ink jet head having a nozzle, a pressure chamber opposed to the nozzle, and an upstream port and a downstream port that communicate with the pressure chamber, an upstream side tank that communicates with the ink jet head via the upstream port and is capable of storing an ink, a downstream side tank that communicates with the ink jet head via the downstream port and is capable of storing the ink, and a circulating pump that feeds the ink from the downstream side tank back to the upstream side tank.
