    • A crawler belt link includes a center portion, one end portion located on one end side of the center portion, and the other end portion located on the other end side of the center portion. In a second surface, the center portion has a first portion of a rail surface, the one end portion has a second portion of the rail surface, and the other end portion has a third portion of the rail surface. A first outer circumferential portion reaching the second portion of the rail surface is located closer to a second side portion with respect to a bushing hole surrounding portion. Accordingly, a crawler belt link and a crawler belt apparatus can be implemented, by which wear of the rail surface above a bushing hole can be suppressed while maintaining the width of the crawler belt link to be relatively small.

    • A temperature monitoring unit has a high degree of sensitivity and reliability even when monitoring the temperature of a relatively large rotary heating element. The temperature monitoring unit includes a mirror which is provided in the vicinity of the rotary heating element and is oriented to reflect infrared rays from the heating element in the radial direction thereof, the mirror being reciprocated linearly in the radial direction, a condenser lens provided radially outwardly of the heating element for converging the infrared rays reflected by the mirror, an infrared sensor on which the converged rays impinge, a plate provided between the mirror and the lens and which has a slit therein that is elongate in a direction approximately perpendicular to the surface of the heating element, and an image processor receiving the output of the infrared sensor. The sensitivity is high because infrared rays from around the thermal point of the heating element are blocked by the plate. Moreover, because the visual field is elongate in the radial direction of the heating element, the mirror can quickly scan the entirety of the heating element.

    • In a travelling crawler belt in which a pair of left and right links are connected by pins respectively press-fitted into the corresponding links, a fixing end surface of the pin or the links is continuously and locally pressed and deformed in an axial direction of the pin from the fixing end surface, along an inner or outer peripheral portion of an opening of a pin-press-fit hole. Then, a part of the opening peripheral portion of the end of the pin or the link is enlarged or reduced in diameter, so that the diametrically increased or reduced portion is retained and fixed to a mating retaining space. With this fixing method, it is possible to easily and strongly couple the links and the pin, and to obtain a fixing structure of the links and the pin for a crawler belt capable of sufficiently securing a holding force of the pin in the axial direction. When the pin is fixed at the time of the assembling of the pin, an existing press can be used without requiring any exclusive machine, and it is possible to easily and reliably assemble the links and the pin for the crawler belt.
