    • An antenna includes a base, a first radiating element, and second radiating element. The first radiating element is open at a first end thereof, is connected to a ground point at a second end thereof, and resonates in a substantially ¼ wavelength mode in a first communication frequency band. A feed line is connected between a first feed point and a predetermined position between the first end and the second end of the first radiating element. The second radiating element has a first end that is a second feed point, a second end that is connected to the ground point, and resonates in a substantially ½ wavelength mode in a second communication frequency band. A distance from the ground point to the second feed point is longer than a distance from the ground point to the first feed point.

    • An antenna includes an antenna element in which a predetermined electrode is provided on a dielectric base member and a substrate in which a predetermined electrode is provided on a base. A feed-terminal connecting electrode to which a feed terminal provided on the lower surface of the antenna element, an external-terminal connecting electrode to which an external electrode is connected, and a ground-terminal connecting electrode to which a ground terminal provided on the lower surface of the antenna element are provided on the upper surface of an ungrounded area of the substrate. A chip inductor is connected between the external-terminal connecting electrode and the feed-terminal connecting electrode, and a chip inductor is connected between the external-terminal connecting electrode and the ground-terminal connecting electrode. The shortcut of a current route achieved by each of the chip inductors is provided.

    • A feed radiation electrode functioning as an antenna is capable of performing radio communication in two different frequency bands, a lower frequency band and a higher frequency band, defined in advance for radio communication. The feed radiation electrode has a loop shape, and a feeding end Q and a feeding-end adjacent portion P are connected with a shortcut path, which is provided by a stub, therebetween. Thus, the feed radiation electrode is capable of performing radio communication in the lower frequency band for radio communication in accordance with a resonant operation based on a current flowing through a channel IL and performing radio communication in the higher frequency band for radio communication in accordance with a resonant operation based on currents flowing through channels IH and IH′.

    • A radio communication apparatus includes housings that are connected via a hinge unit in an openable/closeable manner, and circuit boards in the housings. The circuit boards are connected via circuit connecting lines functioning as an inductor. One end of the hinge unit is connected to an end portion of the housing and the other end thereof is connected to a portion located farther inside than an end portion of the housing. When the housings are unfolded, a region extending from the portion to the end portion of the housing overlaps a region near the end portion of the housing in a projection domain. A high dielectric member is provided in this overlapped region, and a capacitor is constituted by the high dielectric member and ground areas.

    • An antenna structure including a dielectric base member provided in a non-ground region of a circuit board and a feed radiation electrode provided on the dielectric base member. An outer side surface of the dielectric base member along an edge of one end of the circuit board defines a side surface. A feed electrode is provided in the non-ground region of the circuit board or outside the circuit board such that the feed electrode is disposed along side surfaces of the dielectric base member. One end of the feed radiation electrode defines a feed end connected to the feed electrode, and the other end of the feed radiation electrode defines an open end. The feed radiation electrode has a configuration in which a current path extending from the feed end to the open end has a loop shape so as to be provided on at least the side surface and an upper surface of the dielectric base member. A feed radiation electrode portion formed on the side surface of the dielectric base member 6 forms a capacitance between the feed radiation electrode portion and the feed electrode for improving antenna characteristics.
