    • An antenna includes a base, a first radiating element, and second radiating element. The first radiating element is open at a first end thereof, is connected to a ground point at a second end thereof, and resonates in a substantially ¼ wavelength mode in a first communication frequency band. A feed line is connected between a first feed point and a predetermined position between the first end and the second end of the first radiating element. The second radiating element has a first end that is a second feed point, a second end that is connected to the ground point, and resonates in a substantially ½ wavelength mode in a second communication frequency band. A distance from the ground point to the second feed point is longer than a distance from the ground point to the first feed point.

    • An antenna includes an antenna element in which a predetermined electrode is provided on a dielectric base member and a substrate in which a predetermined electrode is provided on a base. A feed-terminal connecting electrode to which a feed terminal provided on the lower surface of the antenna element, an external-terminal connecting electrode to which an external electrode is connected, and a ground-terminal connecting electrode to which a ground terminal provided on the lower surface of the antenna element are provided on the upper surface of an ungrounded area of the substrate. A chip inductor is connected between the external-terminal connecting electrode and the feed-terminal connecting electrode, and a chip inductor is connected between the external-terminal connecting electrode and the ground-terminal connecting electrode. The shortcut of a current route achieved by each of the chip inductors enables the electrical length of the radiation electrode to be reduced and the resonant frequency in a fundamental mode to be specified independently of the resonant frequency in a harmonic mode.

A capacitance-loading conductor is connected to one or both of the feed end and the capacitance-loading portion α of the feed radiation electrode. The capacitance-loading conductor forms a capacitance for adjusting a resonant frequency in the fundamental mode between the feed end and the capacitance-loading portion α.

    • An antenna includes a radiation electrode, with one end thereof being connected to a conductive portion located on a front or back surface of a board. The radiation electrode extends outward from the conductive portion starting from the connected end, is bent around an edge of the board, and extends to a side opposite to the side of the starting point with a space therebetween. The other end of the radiation electrode is not connected to the conductive portion so as to function as an open end. Since the radiation electrode extends from one side to the other side of the board, the electric length of the radiation electrode can be increased. Accordingly, the size and thickness of the radiation electrode can be reduced while keeping a set resonance frequency. Also, since a space defined by the board and the radiation electrode can be increased, the gain is greatly improved and the bandwidth is significantly broadened.

    • A radio communication apparatus includes housings that are connected via a hinge unit in an openable/closeable manner, and circuit boards in the housings. The circuit boards are connected via circuit connecting lines functioning as an inductor. One end of the hinge unit is connected to an end portion of the housing and the other end thereof is connected to a portion located farther inside than an end portion of the housing. When the housings are unfolded, a region extending from the portion to the end portion of the housing overlaps a region near the end portion of the housing in a projection domain. A high dielectric member is provided in this overlapped region, and a capacitor is constituted by the high dielectric member and ground areas.

    • An antenna includes an antenna element in which predetermined electrodes are formed on a dielectric base; and a substrate in which predetermined electrodes are formed on a base. On a top surface of a non-ground area of the substrate, a power supply terminal connection electrode is formed so as to be connected to a power supply terminal formed on a bottom surface of the antenna element, and a ground terminal connection electrode is formed so as to be connected to a ground terminal formed on the bottom surface of the antenna element. On a bottom surface of the non-ground area of the substrate, capacitance-forming electrodes are formed at positions opposed to the power supply terminal connection electrode and the ground terminal connection electrode, respectively. By capacitances caused by the capacitance-forming electrodes, being loaded to radiation electrodes, respectively, a resonant frequency in a fundamental mode can be set independently of a resonant frequency in a harmonic mode.
