摘要： A battery having a bundle of electrodes and separator which is made by winding a positive-electrode plate and a negative-electrode plate together with a seperator therebetween, one of the positive- and negative-electrode plates being electrically connected to a power collecting body, the power collecting body being provided in and welded to an outer package can, wherein a welding portion of the outer package can and the power collecting body comprises a first layer and a second layer which are stacked in a thickness direction of the outer package can at the welding portion, and the second layer is in contact with a surface of the first layer and includes crystal grains that are minuter than crystal grains included in the first layer.

摘要： In the present invention, the electrode assembly is first formed, and then a tab portion is formed by compressing an active material unfilled portion in an electrode having a foamed-metal electrode substrate (Tab Portion Formation Step). Accordingly, in the manufacturing method of the present invention, even if winding misalignment is created in which the edge of the separator is located adjacent to one edge of the active material unfilled portion during the formation of the electrode assembly, the misaligned portion of the separator is pushed in the width direction of the electrode together with the active material unfilled portion when the compression is applied in the Tab Portion Formation Step. Herewith, it is less likely to tuck a part of the separator between the tab portion and the current collector when the current collector is joined in the Current Collector Joining Step.

摘要： The object of the present invention is to provide a reliable alkaline storage battery having a structure by which a short circuit between the electrodes can be prevented in the manufacturing procedures. To achieve this object, the present invention provides a cylindrical battery that includes an electrode assembly including a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate spirally wound together and sandwiching a separator. The collector plate includes a main body. One or more convex parts, each having a top extending linearly, are formed on a main surface of the main body by bending processing. A part of at least one of the convex part is cut out to form a cutout region. The collector plate is welded to the end part of the electrode assembly at the top of each convex part.

摘要： A seal type storage battery has a battery case which has a sealing assembly for sealing an opened portion of an outer case, which holds an electricity generating element. The sealing assembly includes a pressure-sensitive conductive rubber member in the battery case. The pressure-sensitive conductive rubber member has a resistance that changes continuously depending on a rise of inner pressure in the battery case. A lead connecting with the, pressure-sensitive conductive rubber extends outside of the battery case, and the lead is capable of outputting a pressure detecting signal to outside.
