摘要： A process cartridge detachably mountable to a main assembly of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, includes a developer discharging member; a cartridge positioning portion for engagement with a main assembly positioning portion provided in the main assembly when the cartridge is mounted to the main assembly; a photosensitive member driving force receiving portion for receiving a driving force for rotating the photosensitive member from the main assembly when the cartridge is mounted to the main assembly; and a discharging member driving force receiving portion for receiving a driving force for rotating the developer discharging member from the main assembly when the cartridge is mounted to the main assembly. The rotational directions of the photosensitive member driving force receiving portion and the discharging member driving force receiving portion are the same, and the rotation directions are such that a rotation moment is produced so as to contact the cartridge positioning portion to a lower surface of the main assembly positioning portion of the apparatus.

摘要： A developer container for containing a developer includes: (a) a first detecting member which is an electrode member having a pair of input-side and output-side electrodes formed in parallel and in one plane at a predetermined interval for detecting capacitance between the electrodes and which has a measurement-side electrode that is in contact with the developer and a reference electrode that is out of contact with the developer; (b) a developer removing member for removing any developer adhering to a detection region of the first detecting member; and (c) a second detecting member formed of a conductive material for detecting capacitance between the second detecting member and a developer bearing member, wherein a main body of an electrophotographic image forming apparatus first detects the developer amount partway from the start of use of the developer container on the basis of detection information from the first detecting member, and then detects the developer amount on the basis of detection information from the second detecting member.

The developer containing portion includes a rib disposed in a direction intersecting the partition member and wherein the partition member includes a groove disposed in a direction so as to avoid intersecting the rib.

A reference electrode member is arranged at a position where it does not contact the developer, and has an input electrode for receiving a voltage from the apparatus main body and an output electrode for outputting an electrical signal in accordance with an electrostatic capacitance generated upon application of the voltage. The measurement electrode member is adhered to an adhesion member. A lid member is coupled to the adhesion member and covers the reference electrode member. An engaging portion engages with a vessel positioning portion attached to the developer vessel, and positions the detection unit with respect to the developer vessel. A developer vessel, process cartridge, developing cartridge, and electrophotographic image forming apparatus are also disclosed.
