    • A communication equipment automatically interchanges business card information and displays such information on a display, thus making operation by a user for interchanging business card information unnecessary. The communication equipment includes a business card memory, a business card information display, a business card information reception function, a business card information transmission function, a communication equipment detection function, a network transmission/reception function, a storage device, a display and a mouse. When the communication equipment function detection function finds communicable equipment, the communication equipment displays a list of the communicable equipment. The user then starts communication with the desired counterpart. The business card information is automatically interchanged allowing direct input of the business card information to the equipment.

    • A data communication apparatus as a device. A discrimination data of own device is sent. When the discrimination data is received from another device, the discrimination data is stored as a direct communicatable device for the own device. A direct communicatable device list including the stored discrimination data is generated and sent with the discrimination data of the own device. When the direct communicatable device list is received from other device, the direct communicatable device list is stored as an indirect communicatable device for the own device. In response to selection of the discrimination data as a destination address from the discrimination data of the direct communicatable device and the indirect communicatable device, data with the destination address is sent. When the data is received from other device, the destination address of the received data is decided to coincide with the discrimination data of the own device.

    • A communication network system has a plurality of communication terminals, each having a first transmitting unit and a first receiving unit. Information is transmitted and received among the communication terminals through the first transmitting unit and the first receiving unit. At least two of the communication terminals are used as relay terminals. Each of the relay terminal has a second transmitting unit and a second receiving unit for performing only one-to-one-type communication. A received-information relay unit transmits information received from the first receiving unit to the second transmitting unit and transmits information received from the second receiving unit to the first transmitting unit. A relay-terminal-information transmitting unit transmits to the first transmitting unit ID information of the relay terminal and ID information of a terminal to which the relay terminal is providing relay services. A storage unit stores the information of the relay terminals and relay situations thereof from relay terminal information received from the first receiving unit. When the relay terminal discontinues the relay services, the presence or the absence of an available relay terminal is determined by referring to the storage unit. If there is an available relay terminal, an instruction is provided to the terminal which is receiving the relay services to change the relay terminal.
