    • In a winder device for winding a moving web, such as paper or cardboard web, to form a roll of considerable weight, the roll is carried by support members giving it peripheral support. The support members comprise a rotatable winder drum, transmitting the web to the roll, and a movable support web device. The support members are arranged to form the main support of the roll. The support web device includes a support web having a portion between two rotatable support elements and this support web portion has a roll supporting surface of contact with the roll. The surface of contact is continuously enlarged when said roll grows, in order to eliminate the risk of roll damages due to excess support pressure when winding heavy rolls.

    • In an arrangement for forming rolls from a running web, the web is slit in its longitudinal direction and wound into a plurality of rolls, all having the same rotation direction during winding. The arrangement comprises means providing a peripheral as well as a central roll support force acting on the rolls during winding. The arrangement is so dimensioned that, due to the increase of the roll diameter during winding, the ratio of the peripheral support force and the central support force of a roll undergoes a substantial change merely as a result of the geometrical construction features of the arrangement. In the final phase of the winding of a roll, the central support force of the roll is considerably higher than the peripheral support force of the roll.

    • Method for controlling the reeling of a web, in which the radius and/or any other corresponding quantity of the roll that is being formed, is measured by means of detectors with the signals thereof being passed to a control system. Adjusting signals controlled by roll diameter data measured on the basis of table and/or functional data stored in a memory of the control system for different radii of the roll, are formed in the control system by which a belt carrying member is controlled, this member being situated on an adjoining quadrant of the roll being would relative to a carrier roll. The supporting linear load of this belt carrying member is controlled by adjusting the tensioning of the supporting belt. The steps of the present method are carried out so that a suitable distribution of linear load in a reeling nip is carried into effect and so that the supporting and carrying linear loads of the roll being wound remain within preset limits.

    • A method for producing a constructional element comprising a steel casing filled with concrete, for instance, a machine body having good load carrying and vibration-absorbing properties. The main steel parts of the element are arranged to form a hollow casing filled with a fluid concrete mass. Internal pressure is supplied in the casing to act on the concrete mass during its hardening phase, the pressure being selected so as to provide in the steel casing an elastic deformation and expansion which substantially exceeds the shrinkage of the concrete mass during its hardening phase. The internal pressure must be sufficient to cause such a deformation of the steel casing that there is a remaining compression between the steel casing against the dry shrunk concrete in the finished element under all the loading and deforming conditions for which the constructional element has been designed. Special concrete mixes and casing filling procedures are used, which produce a concrete and steel construction element having good vibration-absorbing properties.
