    • In an imprinting method for transferring a pattern of a mold to a resin coated on a substrate by using an imprinting apparatus including a mold holding unit and a resin coating unit, the resin is coated in n shot areas arranged in a direction parallel to a direction in which the holding unit and the coating unit are arranged where n is an integer equal to or greater than 2, and the pattern is transferred to the shot areas on a one-by-one basis. A distance D between the coating unit and the mold and a width W of each shot area as seen in the direction parallel to the direction in which the holding unit and the coating unit are arranged are selected so as to satisfy a condition D>(3/2−1/n)W, and the coating and the transferring are performed repeatedly on the substrate.

    • A ball catching apparatus comprises a main body in which a back-of-hand-side inner skin and a palm-side inner skin are respectively secured to a back-of-hand-side outer skin and a palm-side outer skin, and a thumb hook provided at a base-end portion of a thumb pocket part of the main body and allowing a position of a thumb to be secured and released, wherein the thumb hook comprises a first belt and a second belt respectively secured to the palm-side inner skin, the first belt allows the thumb to be pressed from a forefinger side, the second belt is provided along an outer peripheral side of the first belt and in such a manner as overlapping with the first belt, and a state where the thumb is pressed by the first belt is maintained in such a manner that the second belt is stretched, so that the position of the thumb is determined while the thumb is being comfortably fitted by the first and second belts.

    • A solar-cell watch dial to be disposed on or above a solar cell housed in a watch, the solar-cell watch dial including an alumina of the formula Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 whose purity is at least 99.90% and exhibiting a light transmission ranging from 40 to 60%. The invention also includes a process for producing a solar-cell watch dial, which includes the steps of: mixing together an alumina of the formula Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 whose purity is at least 99.90%, an organic binder and water to thereby obtain an Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 mixture (A); drying and granulating the Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 mixture to thereby obtain a granular material (B); molding the granular material into a plate dial precursor (C); firing the dial precursor at 700 to 1500.degree. C. in atmospheric environment to thereby obtain a preliminary firing product (D); and firing the preliminary firing product at 1500 to 1800.degree. C. under a pressure of 1.times.10.sup.-2 to 1.times.10.sup.-5 torr for 1 to 10 hr to thereby obtain a solar-cell watch dial (E). The solar-cell watch dial of the present invention enables preventing the solar cell from being sighted from outside without hindering the supply of light energy to the solar cell.

    • An apparatus for reproducing, from a recording medium, a composite signal in which an image signal and a non-image signal are multiplexed on a time axis. The apparatus includes (a) a reproduction device for reproducing the composite signal from the recording medium; (b) a detection device, coupled to the reproduction device, for detecting a drop-out portion of the composite signal reproduced by the reproduction device; (c) a discrimination device, coupled to the reproduction device, for generating a discrimination signal to discriminate between an image signal portion and non-image signal portions of the composite signal reproduced by the reproduction device; and (d) a replacing device, coupled to the detection device and to the discrimination device, for replacing the drop-out portion of the composite signal with a corresponding replacement signal, reproduced a predetermined period of time before the composite signal, in response to (i) a detection of a drop-out portion by the detection device and, (ii) the discrimination signal generated by the discrimination device.
