    • A painting system includes a conveyor, a first travel guide rail, a second travel guide rail, a painting robot, and an opener robot. The conveyor is configured to convey in a paint booth an article to be painted. The first travel guide rail is provided at a side of the conveyor to extend along the conveyor. The second travel guide rail is provided at a side of the conveyor to extend along the conveyor above the first travel guide rail. The painting robot is mounted on the first travel guide rail to be movable along the first travel guide rail. The opener robot is mounted on the second travel guide rail to be movable along the second travel guide rail. The painting robot and the opener robot are movable along the first travel guide rail and the second travel guide rail respectively without interfering with each other.

    • An internal pressure explosion-proof system is provided that is capable of detecting high-pressure abnormality of an internal pressure explosion-proof mechanism, urging a check of gas/air apparatus by providing a means for notifying a user of abnormality, and decreasing excessive pressure of an internal pressure chamber. A high-pressure abnormality detector and a pressure regulating valve are provided in an air discharging portion for releasing the gas/air discharged from the internal pressure explosion-proof mechanism. The working pressure of the high-pressure abnormality detector is set to be lower than the working pressure of the pressure regulating valve. The high-pressure abnormality detector sends a signal when the pressure becomes higher than the set pressure to make the alarm give a warning and makes the open valves open to decrease the pressure of the internal pressure chamber of the internal pressure explosion-proof mechanism which became excessive.

    • An articulating mechanism for use in a single- or multiple-fluid-path painting robot is presented. The articulation design is particularly suitable as a wrist-joint and is free from the problems of dead space and single-fluid-path limitations found in conventional wrist-joint designs. The mechanism is based on coupling two cylindrical casings coaxially so that arm casing, wrist casing and the flange ends are coaxially joint about a shaft axis. The end sections of each components are sealed while leaving a fluid space of a given spacing between the outer and inner casings. The casings provide a fluid passage space extending in the direction of the casings and is provided with fluid delivery holes for the delivery of paint and other fluid medium. The designs include a blocking member so that cleaning of the robotic device, and quick maintenance or color changes can be carried out during production operation.
