    • A display of code power levels and relationships of multiple spreading factor orthogonal codes in a code division multiple access (CDMA) signal has a first code graph of code domain power (CDP) for all the codes at the largest code spreading factor that includes all codes at all spreading factors plotted in a linear code indexing order and a second graph of CDP where the codes are plotted in bit-reversed order to group together the sub-codes of each code of lower spreading factor. Markers on each graph are tied together such that movement of one marker on one graph to a particular code value causes the other marker on the other graph to move to the corresponding code value. The sub-codes related to a particular code bar in the graphs indicated by the markers may be differentiated by using grey scale or color variations. A base code power level indicator, which may be in the form of a horizontal bar on the bit-reversed order graph spanning the group of sub-codes corresponding to a particular spreading factor, provides a power indication for the base code.

    • A data compression method for producing spectrum traces may divide signal data into multiple transform frames, produce a spectrum trace for each transform frame using a time domain to frequency domain transform, and combine the multiple frames from the analysis window into a single spectrum trace according to the spectrum amplitude of corresponding points in each frame. A device comprising a port to receive a signal or data set; and circuitry in communication with the port to segment the data record into frames, multiply each frame by a windowing function, transform each frame from a time domain representation to a frequency domain representation, and compress the frames using a detection function to create a single spectrum trace. This data compression provides flexibility to allow users to select analysis length, resolution bandwidth (RBW) and number of trace points independently, eliminating the coupling often found in traditional approaches.

    • A system for providing an easily usable composite legality and component gamut display translates a video input signal into a plurality of component and composite format signals. A user selects from the plurality of component and composite format signals a pair of signals for input to the y-axis and x-axis of a rectangular plot. The resulting rectangular plot includes every pixel within a video frame of the video input signal and, together with prescribed limits, is displayed to provide a visual indication of composite legality and/or component gamut.

    • A test and measurement instrument includes an input for receiving an input test signal and a separator that separates a data array of the input test signal into a number of different data bins. Each data bin includes a number of data points. A selector is included that determines whether the data points within a present bin of the total bins represent signal or noise. When the present bin contains noise, a processor generates a first output for the present bin. Instead, when the present bin contains signal, the processor generates a second output for the present bin. The bin outputs can then be combined to make an output array, such as a waveform display, for the instrument.
