    • Disclosed is a microscope adapted for accepting one or more attachment illuminating devices, which have different dimensions and are designed to be supplied with electric power either from a source within the microscope or external to the microscope. The microscope comprises a microscope stand comprising a base and a vertical support member; at least one source of electrical energy located inside of the stand for powering an illuminating device; and first means, associated with the stand, for connecting any of a variety of attachment illuminating devices which have different dimensions and are designed to be supplied with electric power either from the electrical energy source or from an electrical energy source external to the microscope. This connecting means includes means, adapted to cooperate with complementary coupling means on each attachment illuminating device, for mechanically coupling an attachment illuminating device, and means, adapted to cooperate with complementary electrical coupling means on each attachment illuminating device which is designed to be supplied with electrical energy from the electrical energy source, for electrically coupling the electrical energy source with an attachment illuminating device which is designed to be supplied with electrical energy from said electrical source. Thus, the attachment means provide for direct standardized attachment of all attachment illuminating devices having different dimensions without the use of any size adapting means.

    • A microscope stage comprising a first stage part and a second stage part. The first stage part is supported so as to be displaceable along a first displacement direction in the second stage part. The second stage part is supported so as to be displaceable in the stationary guide along a second displacement direction at right angles to the first displacement direction. The microscope stage has a first operating element for the first displacement direction and a second operating element for the second displacement direction. A drive device is included for allowing the second operating element to communicate with the second stage part. The first operating element and second operating element are arranged to be stationary with respect to the first and second displacement directions. A first lever is provided at a first end which is swivelable about a stationary vertical first rotational axis. A second lever is supported at a first end at the second stage part so as to be swivelable in a vertical second rotational axis. The first and second levers are connected with one another at their respective ends via at least one articulation point. The second lever engages a first rotatable end with the first stage part to generate the displacement of the first stage part in the second stage part along the first displacement direction. A mechanism is provided for the transmission of a rotational movement from the first operating element via the first rotational axis and the articulation point, to the first end of the second lever.

    • Coaxial drive for the object stage of a microscope, with a stationary guide supporting a first stage part which is horizontally displaceable in a first displacement direction. The first stage part supports a second stage part which is displaceable horizontally in a second displacement direction. A first control element displaces the first stage part in the first displacement direction and a second control element displaces the second stage part in the second displacement direction. The two control elements are rotatable about a coaxial axis and spatially retain their respective positions during displacement of the first stage part or second stage. A first force transmission device swivels about a second axis and displaces the second stage part. A second force transmission device acts on the second stage part. A rotating rod is provided between the first and second force transmission devices and transmit a rotation of the first to the second force transmission device. The rotating rod slides in the guide during the displacement of the second stage part, and either the guide or the rotating rod is swivelable about the second axis with the first force transmission device and is rotated by the first force transmission, and the force transmission is carried out by transmission of the rotating movement to the rotating rod or to the guide.
