    • An undercut tool assembly utilizing a seismic drilling bit designed for insertion for use in enlarging an upper end of a pre-drilled hole for receiving and securely retaining an anchor therein. The bit is mounted onto a drill and has a pivot ring which permits limited tilting movement of the bit body during a drilling process to enlarge the lowermost end of the drill hole. The undercut tool assembly can be used in conjunction and locked engagement with a setting tool in a process to position an anchor in position within the bore hole. In this manner, an anchor can be inserted within the pre-drilled hole, and, when the anchor has been flanged outwardly by conventional means within the hole, the flange portions of the anchor will rest within the enlarged area, thus securely retaining the anchor in place.

    • A seismic tool assembly for effecting a drill hole and enlarging a lowermost end thereof whereby an anchor can be set more securely therein. A drill bit is inserted through an opening in a cap portion, which is mounted on a stabilizer mounted within at least a portion of the drill hole. The bit is then inserted through each of the cap portion and the stabilizer to attain a drilling position. The bit possesses extra cutting tips on an upper end thereof, with a view to widening the upper end of a drill hole so that a wider flange can be inserted therein, so as to further stabilize and support the stabilizer when limited tilting movement of the bit within the stabilizer is performed during the drilling process.

    • An anchor insertion rod is disclosed for use with an anchor insertion tool removable secured therein for the installation and setting of anchors. The anchor insertion rod comprises an outer member and an inner member slidably mounted within the outer member, whereby the inner member can be extended to increase the length of the insertion rod. Upper and lower stop members are positioned on the insertion rod, along with a slide hammer surrounding a portion of the insertion rod that moves along the insertion rod between the upper and lower stop members. To install an anchor, the insertion rod is raised to align an anchor within the anchor insertion tool with a pre-drilled hole in the surface in which the anchor is to be mounted. The slide hammer is moved to forcibly contact the upper stop member to impart an impacting force to insert the anchor. The anchor is set by moving the slide hammer to contact the lower stop member and impart a setting force to the lower stop member. Once the anchor is set, handles on the insertion rod are then rotated to disengage and separate the anchor from threaded engagement with the insertion rod and the anchor insertion tool.

    • An undercut anchor system designed for effecting a drill hole and enlarging a lowermost end thereof for insertion and setting of an anchor therein, which utilizes interlocked components surrounding a rod body which can be used as a setting tool in a one-step process to position a bore hole sleeve and an anchor in position within the bore hole. An anchor is positioned on the rod body below the bore sleeve. A cutting tip protrudes from a lower end of the rod body. The cutting tip portion has an operational cutting radius greater than a radius of the rod body. In this manner, an anchor can be inserted within the pre-drilled hole, and, when the anchor has been flanged outwardly by conventional means within the hole, the flange portions of the anchor will rest within the enlarged area, thus securely retaining the anchor in place.
