    • Positive retention of a power train coupling in either a coupled or decoupled position is achieved in a structure including first and second power train elements 12 and 14 mounted for movement relative to each other between a coupled power transmitting position and a decoupled non-transmitting position by the provision of a pair of fluid operated latches 34 and 36 engageable with a double acting piston 28 and cylinder 26 which is operable to move one of the elements 12,14 relative to the other. Each latch includes a moveable latch element 48 for latchingly engaging a groove 30, 32 in the rod 24 mounting the pistion 28, a second fluid cylinder 38 for moving the latch element 48, and a valve 52, 54 for establishing fluid communication between the second cylinder 36 and the double acting cylinder 26.

    • Disclosed herein is a method for aligning a cutting tool comprising displacing a first slide comprising a microscope in a first direction at a first speed; displacing a second slide comprising an adjustable tool holder and a cutting tool in a second direction at a second speed; wherein the adjustable tool holder is in operative communication with the cutting tool; observing an actual path of travel of a cross hair center of the microscope with respect to a cutting edge of the cutting tool; and adjusting the position of the cutting tool so that the cutting edge of the cutting tool and the cross hair center lie in the same plane during the travel of the cross hair center.

    • A shoulder saddle for carrying a stepladder of the type having opposed, channel-shaped, side rails with spaced steps extending therebetween. A saddle block has a length no greater than the spacing between steps of the ladder and a width greater than the width of the ladder steps and has a top surface with a pair of spaced slots extending lengthwise therealong for receipt of the rail flanges. The bottom surface of the block is concave in lengthwise cross-section and has a layer of cushion material attached thereto. Relatively flat front and back portions are formed on the bottom surface beyond the concave cross-section to facilitate attachment of the cushion material.
