    • A system (10) or method (50) for controlling remote controlled apparatus can include a remote controlled apparatus (18) and a remote controlling device (12). The remote controlling device can include a wireless transceiver (9) for controlling the remote controlled apparatus and a programmable memory (16) for storing profiles defining operation of the remote controlling device corresponding to the remote controlled apparatus. The wireless transceiver receives from the remote controlled apparatus data defining a profile or a selection signal for selecting among a plurality of stored profiles. The remote controlled apparatus can be an RC toy such as a car, boat or aircraft and the remote controlling device can be a phone or other transceiving device. The remote controlled apparatus can include a stored profile that can be modified using an exchangeable housing (26, 28 or 44) having a predefined set of mechanisms for activating switches on the remote controlled apparatus.

    • Charging systems (10, 70) are disclosed that generally employ forces generated by at least one magnet (16-22) or (76-82) to guide and urge a rechargeable, portable or mobile electronic device (12, 72) toward a charging position with respect to a charging base (14, 74) therefor. By using magnetic forces to guide or urge the device (12, 72) to the charging position, substantially frictionless charging systems (10, 70) can be provided herein for shifting the device (12, 72) to its charging position. Either repulsion or attraction forces can be employed. Accordingly, depending on which magnetic force is used to urge the device (12, 72) to its charging position, an opposite magnetic force is preferably provided to provide the user a tactile indication of improper alignment of the device (12, 72) and charging base (14, 74). Preferably, pairs of opposite single pole magnets are used so that there is one pair (16, 18) or (76, 78) associated with the device (12, 72) and another pair (20, 22) or (80, 82) associated with the base (14, 74).

    • A communication construct used for sharing podcast information associated with a podcast can include a link sent to a remote device (103) while playing the podcast, appended metadata to the link, and a communication packet enabling a user to transfer the link and the appended metadata while the user is playing the podcast. The link can be a universal record locator (URL) to the podcast and the appended metadata can include constructs having start times or end times for the podcast, bookmarks for portions of the podcast, digital rights management information, display description, podcast category, or relevant images. The appended metadata can also include URLs for mobile blogging, a sender's weblog, a video blog, a social contact site, contact information from a sender, or a vCard record. The communication constructs enable podcatcher software in a user's computer or remote device to automatically download the podcast associated with the link.

The remote device receives the link and associated metadata and decodes (206) the associated metadata. The associated metadata can include constructs having start times and end times for the podcast, bookmarks for portions of the podcast, digital rights management information, display description, podcast category, or relevant images.
