    • A display device includes a light source assembly, a light guide plate (LGP), a lower receiving container, a reinforcing member, a display panel and an upper receiving container. The lower receiving container includes a first coupling portion formed on the first bottom surface. The reinforcing member includes a pressing down part structured to pressing down on an upper surface adjacent to a corner portion of the LGP and a fixing part integrally extending from an end portion of the pressing down part in parallel with a first sidewall of the lower receiving container to have a second coupling portion being coupled with the first coupling portion. The reinforcing member covers the light source assembly. The display panel is disposed on the LGP and the reinforcing member. The upper receiving container includes a third coupling portion coupled to the first coupling portion and the second coupling portion through a coupling member.

    • A backlight assembly that improves color uniformity is presented. The backlight assembly includes a plurality of point light sources, an optical member on the point light sources, and a reflecting plate that is positioned to receive light that is reflected by the optical member. The point light sources includes a red light emitting diode generating red light, a green light emitting diode generating green light, and a blue light emitting diode generating blue light. The optical member transmits white light formed by mixing at least some of the red, green and blue lights and reflects the untransmitted portion of the red, green and blue lights. The reflecting plate, which receives the reflected light from the optical member, includes a plurality of patterns that reflect the incident red, green and blue lights, essentially “recycling” the light that did not get transmitted in the first pass.

    • Provided is a display device for an embodiment in which a central axis of a light guide plate (LGP) and a central axis of one or more light sources are matched with each other to maximize efficiency of the light sources, and which has an ultra-slim structure. The display device may include: a display panel which displays an image; an LGP which guides light to the display panel; light sources which are disposed on a side of the LGP and provide light to the LGP; a circuit board which is disposed on a side of the display panel with the light sources mounted on a surface thereof, and driving chips which drive the display panel mounted on an opposite surface thereof; and a frame which houses the LGP and the light sources and on which the circuit board and the display panel are mounted.
