    • A rotary anvil is outfitted with pins protruding from the base of an axially extending channel along the surface of the anvil. A cutting mat having a generally elongate body includes first and second locking members projecting from opposite axial ends thereof. The cutting mat is installed on the anvil such that the first and second locking members are positioned within the channel over one of the pins. The cutting mat may include a foot extending from the first locking member that includes a pin receptacle that seats down over the pin. Alternatively, a lockup device may be provided to temporarily secure the cutting mat to the rotary anvil. The lockup device includes a pin receptacle on the bottom surface thereof adapted to seat down over the pin. The first and second locking members of the cutting mat are then installed into the channel in cooperation with the lockup device.

    • A method for securing movement of an object through a secure area includes providing a first electronic tag for the object, the first tag having a first memory and a second electronic tag, having a second memory, for an individual. The first memory stores an attribute of object and information of an individual permitted to move the object. The second memory stores an identifying attribute of an individual and a type of biometric information of the individual. Identifying attributes of the individual stored in the second memory are compared with information of permitted individuals stored in the first memory. Biometric information is obtained from the individual and compared with biometric information stored in the second memory to validate the identity of the individual.

    • A lockup device for securing cutting mats to a rotary anvil comprises a base portion, one sidewall, and a wedge portion, and is adapted to be inserted into the channel of the rotary anvil such that the sidewall of the lockup device is adjacent a wall of the channel. A cutting mat having opposing first and second flanged ends is wrapped around the rotary anvil. The first flange is compressed between the locking wedge and the sidewall of the lockup device. The second flange is compressed between the locking wedge and a channel wall. As such, the locking wedge and cutting mat are frictionally secured to the rotary anvil. Further, the cutting mat may be quickly repositioned by releasing the second flange from the channel. When the cutting mat is unwrapped from the rotary anvil, the lockup device remains secured to the first flange, allowing for quick repositioning.
