    • The method and tool of this invention functions to reduce the ends of tubular material, such as oil or gas well drill pipe, particularly pipe having a flared end. The tool consists of a mandrel sleeve having an inner tapered surface, a series of conical rollers mounted in a roller cage within the mandrel so the rollers bear against the tapered surface. With the pipe inserted between the rollers and with relative rotational and axial movement between the pipe and the mandrel, the rollers will engage the surface of the pipe applying a swaging force to the pipe which is increased by the decreasing diameter caused by axial movement of the pipe and rollers along the tapered surface.

    • An extremely simple valve stem assembly for a tubeless tire and rim, comprising an elastomeric boot or flexible enclosure adapted to be inserted into a rim hole from one side thereof, and a hard plastic insert, which is specially configured to be joined with the boot, such insert being inserted from the opposite side of the rim so as to create a tight, mechanical fit, the dimensions being so proportioned that a perfect seal is established between the periphery of the boot and the rim by reason of boot expansion, as well as an extremely tight seal between the insert and the inner portion of the boot by virtue of compression between insert and rim.

    • A mechanism and method for extracting a tube from a tube sheet includes expandable jaws positioned within the inner bore of the tube. An expansion device is connected to a first piston of the extraction mechanism whereby the expansion device expands the jaws into engagement with the inner surface of the tube. The jaws are expanded by providing a fluid at a predetermined pressure to the inner piston. While the fluid pressure is maintained on the inner piston, a second force is generated by supplying fluid under pressure to an outer piston having the jaws connected to an end thereof, whereby the outer piston is moved to extract the tube from its tube sheet.
