    • A drying apparatus includes an outer case, a portion of the outer case defining a cavity, an outlet disposed at a lower end of the cavity and a liquid dispersion unit, the liquid dispersion unit comprising a collector downstream of the outlet, a liquid evaporation unit in communication with the collector and an airflow generator for exhausting evaporated liquid from the collector to the exterior of the outer case. The liquid evaporation unit includes a high frequency agitator, such as a piezo-electric device. The piezo-electric device, when in use, agitates the surface of the water, and the water can be evaporated at a low energy cost. The waste liquid is therefore removed from the drying apparatus more hygienically and economically than known prior art arrangements.

The cavity has an entrance delimited by a front edge and a rear edge in which the openings are located. The shape of the front and rear edges is such that, when in use the user's hands are introduced to the cavity, the distance between the user's hands and the nearest opening is substantially uniform. Alternatively, one of the edges is substantially straight and the other of the said edges is curved so that the distance between the edges varies along the length of the cavity entrance. These arrangements enhance the drying efficiency of the dryer.

At least one slot-like opening communicates with the fan and is arranged in the casing so as to direct an airflow transversely across the cavity. The slot-like opening is formed between opposing walls which are manufactured from a thermosetting plastics material. By manufacturing the walls of the slot-like opening from a thermosetting plastic material such as melamine, the walls of the slot-like opening can be molded economically instead of machined from metal. The thermosetting plastic material is dimensionally stable when moulded, thermally resistant and impact resistant.

The slot-like opening may be formed between an upper wall and a lower wall, the lower wall may terminate substantially flush with the casing and the upper wall protrudes beyond the casing, reducing the effect of the air causing the user's hands to be pulled or sucked towards the slot-like openings but eliminating any protrusion of the walls of the slot-like opening on one side.

    • Various technologies and techniques are disclosed that merge components on a design surface. The system receives input from a user to add components or clauses to a design surface and analyzes the components to determine if some of the components can be merged. If the system identifies components that can be merged, then the system merges the identified components to reduce the number of components present on the design surface. The system determines that some components can be merged if the components meet the same criteria, such as having components that are equivalent and that have the same number of incoming paths or the same number of outgoing paths. The system provides a visual indicator on the design surface to indicate that components are being merged. The system provides an undo feature to allow the user to undo the component merging when desired.
