The stabilizer includes a flywheel, a flywheel drive motor configured to spin the flywheel about a spin axis at a tip speed of at least 450 ft/sec, a gimbal structure configured to permit flywheel precession about a gimbal axis, and a device for applying a torque to the flywheel about the gimbal axis. The flywheel and gimbal structure are configured so that when installed in the small boat the stabilizer damps roll motion of the boat.

The apparatus may include a first heat transfer element attached to and spinning with the spinning member, a second heat transfer element stationary with respect to the spinning member, wherein the first and second heat transfer elements move relative to one another, and wherein the first and second heat transfer elements are shaped and positioned in close proximity to one another so that substantial heat is transferred from the first heat transfer element to the second heat transfer element. Alternatively, the apparatus may include a set of rotating vanes mounted to rotate with the spinning member, an orifice configured to direct a spray of cooling liquid onto the rotating vanes, wherein the cooling liquid is sprayed onto the rotating vanes at a radially inward location, so that the liquid flows radially outward over the surface of the vanes as a thin film of liquid, and is thrown off the vanes by centrifugal action, and collecting apparatus configured to collect the liquid thrown off of the vanes.

摘要： An energy efficient process scheme for a highly exothermic reaction-distillation system in which the reactor is external to the distillation column and the feed to the reactor is a mixture of at least one liquid product stream from the distillation column with or without other liquid/vapor reactants. The reactor is operated under adiabatic and boiling point conditions and at a pressure that results in vaporizing a portion of the liquid flow through the reactor due to the heat of reaction. Under these conditions, reaction temperature is controlled by reactor pressure. The pressure (and hence the temperature) is maintained at a sufficiently high level such that the reactor effluent can be efficiently used to provide reboil heat for the distillation column.

The system includes a pump that is driven by a driven member of the engine. The system captures heat from the engine, particularly while the engine is running, such as from liquid coolant used for cooling the engine and/or from hot exhaust gases produced by the running engine. The carrier vehicle can include a utility bay including hydraulic fittings connected to the pump and heat exchanger and connectable to a supply of pressure-washing liquid and to a conduit used for discharging the stream of heated and pressurized liquid. The supply can be a tank carried on the vehicle.

摘要： The present invention relates to methods of identifying whether a candidate compound is a modulator of a G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR). In some embodiments, the GPCR is mammalian, preferably human. In some embodiments, the GPCR is expressed endogenously by cardiomyocytes. In some embodiments, the GPCR is coupled to Gq. In some embodiments, the GPCR increases the intracellular level of inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate (IP3). In some embodiments, a modulator of the GPCR is a modulator of cardiomyocyte hypertrophy. The present invention further relates to methods of using a modulator of the GPCR. Preferred modulators are inverse agonists and antagonists. Inverse agonists and antagonists of the invention are useful as therapeutic agents for the prevention or treatment of heart disease, including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and congestive heart failure, in particular hypertrophic cardiomyopathy resulting from post-myocardial infarction remodeling, cardiac valve disease, sustained cardiac afterload, myocarditis, and familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.

When the backrest is in the substantially horizontal position and the center cushion is in the substantially horizontal position, the sun lounge is substantially horizontal and flat to accommodate a sunbathing person stretched out thereon. In the upright position, the backrest forms part of a seat structure which may be used when sunbathing is not desired, for example, while the boat is moving.
