The at least one rod (12.2, 12.3) is designed such that the holding element (11.2) can be separated from the capillary (21) in a state in which the liquid holder mechanism (10) is connected to the patch clamp pipette (20). Also disclosed are a measuring instrument that is equipped with said liquid holder mechanism (10) as well as a method for electrophysically analyzing a biological cell with the help of the liquid holder mechanism (10).
