    • The invention combines the fields of comparative genomic hybridisation (CGH) analysis and SNP array analysis. It relates to methods for detecting and mapping genetic abnormalities associated with various diseases. In particular the invention provides a method for simultaneously performing array CGH and SNP array analysis on a genomic DNA sample comprising contacting a nucleic acid array which comprises a first probe set and a second probe set with a genomic DNA sample, comprising a test and reference sample, under hybridisation conditions, comparing the amount of test sample and reference sample hybridised to the hybridisation probes of the first probe set, comparing the amount of test sample and reference sample hybridised to the hybridisation probes of the second probe set; and using the data obtained to determine the copy number of at least one locus; and at least one SNP in the genomic DNA sample.

    • A motorcycle footrest that is configured to be operably coupled to a motorcycle and provide an additional footrest member for a rider to place their feet during operation of the motorcycle. The motorcycle footrest of the present invention includes a coupling member wherein the coupling member is undulated in shape having a contiguous upper portion and lower portion. The lower portion has an aperture formed therethrough and is of suitable size to accommodate a footpeg standoff therethrough. The coupling member includes an offset member contiguous therewith. A first arm support member is rotatably secured to the offset member and includes a first end and second end. A second arm support member is secured to the second end of the first arm support member.     • An infinitely variable-speed transmission for use in the power train of a motor vehicle has two rotary sheaves and an endless flexible element trained over the sheaves to transmit torque from the flanges of one of the sheaves to the flanges of the other sheave when the one sheave is driven by the prime mover of the vehicle. The flanges have exposed conical surfaces which are frictionally engaged by the exposed end surfaces of pintles forming part of the flexible element when the latter transmits torque. The flanges are hardened, cushioned, roughened and/or otherwise treated at their exposed surfaces to promote the ability of the sheaves to eliminate or reduce noise on contact with the pintles, to stand long periods of use without extensive wear, and/or to transmit pronounced and variable torques.

    • Fuel rods of fuel assemblies of a boiling water reactor are tested for leaks. A plurality of fuel assemblies are each arranged adjacent to one another in a cell of the upper core grid of the boiling water reactor. A hood is placed above the fuel assemblies of a plurality of cells, which form a division for simultaneously heating the fuel assemblies of this division. At least one water sample is taken from each cell of this division, and the water samples from a plurality of cells forming a group are combined and tested for the presence of radioactive fission products contained in the water sample. A plurality of groups are analyzed simultaneously and independently of one another in a number, which number corresponds to the number of groups, of measurement channels of an analysis device. Where a result of a group is positive, the water samples from the cells which are located in this group are fed separately to the analysis device and are analyzed separately in a corresponding number of measurement channels. Those fuel assemblies of a cell that are found positive are tested individually outside the hood.
