摘要： A system and method for measuring and correcting the position of a patient are disclosed. According to an aspect of the invention, reference coordinates for particular body locations on the patent are determined. At a later treatment session, the relative positioning of the patient's body locations are adjusted to match the relative positioning of the reference coordinates. The entire body of the patient can thereafter be moved as a single unit to match the patient's body location with the absolute location of the reference coordinates.

摘要： A method and system for physiological gating for radiation therapy is disclosed. According to an aspect, the invention comprises the use of an optical or video image system to measure regular physiological movement of a patient's body. The image data can be used to quantify voluntary or involuntary motion of the patient that may affect the delivery of radiation to a target tissue. A gating signal can be generated to suspend delivery of radiation upon certain threshold event detected in the physiological movement.

摘要： A radiotherapy couch top has a frame and preferably a pair of beams extending parallel to each other, capable independently of moving towards or away from each other while keeping their mutually parallel longitudinal direction. For supporting the beams in this way, at least two linear slide bearing ways are provided, extending parallel to each other in a transverse direction perpendicular to the beams, at least one of them being supported by the frame. A pair of riding blocks are on each of these linear slide bearing ways, each supporting a corresponding one of the beams and slidable along the linear slide bearing way. Panels are placed over the beams, including one attached to the frame and another which is removable. The removable panel may be replaced with another having an open window section provided with a grid of carbon fiber stringing capable of supporting the patient and allowing projection of radiation directly onto the patient's skin.

摘要： The present invention provides a touch detector for preventing collision involving an electron therapy applicator. A sensor is suspended from a cable wrapped on a system of pulley wheels and attached to a spring. By adjusting the configuration and tension of the cable properly with respect to the weight of the sensor, the detector sensitivity can be made reasonably independent of the direction of the detected force as well as the position of the apparatus.
