    • The circuit breaker pole or poles comprise a movable contact means with a support carrier movable with respect to the frame between an open position and a closed position and one or more contact fingers movable with respect to the support carrier between a contact position and a retracted position. Electromagnetic compensation means are designed to apply electromagnetic forces on the contact finger or fingers tending to keep the contact finger or fingers in contact with the stationary contact means. Electromagnetic limiting means are designed to apply electromagnetic forces on the contact finger or fingers tending to drive the finger or fingers to their retracted position. The electromagnetic compensation means and the electromagnetic limiting means are such that when the current intensity flowing in the movable contact means is under a threshold called the limiting threshold, the finger or fingers are kept in contact with the stationary contact means, and that above said threshold, the finger or fingers are driven to their retracted position. The resultant of the forces applied by the carrier on the kinematic connecting means when the current intensity flowing in the movable contact means reaches the limiting threshold is under the ultrafast opening threshold.

    • A closing system for an arc extinguishing chamber of a circuit breaker with high breaking capacity has been developed. The system according to the invention comprises a first duct equipped with a set of filters able to support usual pressures caused by the gases arising from the switching arc, in particular about 10 to 12 bars, and a second duct closed by a valve device enabling direct outlet of the exhaust gases when the pressure exceeds a threshold so as to prevent any explosion of the case. The outer wall of the extinguishing chamber is designed for the circuit breaker housing so as, including in case of opening of the valve device, to direct the gases and to prevent any arc-over on the frame. The valve device comprises a suitable membrane made from polymer, in particular aramide.

    • An electrical arc extinguishing chamber designed to be placed facing separable contacts of a switchgear apparatus and to extinguish the arc generated by separation of the contacts comprises two side walls facing one another and a plurality of spaced apart plates arranged between the side walls and secured by the side walls. The side walls have a stratified composite structure with at least two layers. The layers comprise a polyamide fabric impregnated with thermosetting resin. The chamber thus obtained has advantageous breaking strength properties. The edges of the side walls do not present any dielectric weakness points. The chamber is particularly suitable for low-voltage switchgear of high power ratings.
