摘要： A syringe (20) is disclosed including a needle (22) and a barrel (24). The needle can have an outside surface (32), a delivery outlet (34) at one end, a base (36) at the other end, and an internal passage (38) extending from the base to the delivery outlet. The barrel can have a generally cylindrical interior surface portion (40) defining a lumen. The barrel also can have a front passage (44) molded around and in fluid-sealing contact with the outside surface of the needle. A method of making such a syringe is also disclosed. A mold (80) for making the barrel defines a front opening of the barrel to be molded around and in fluid-sealing contact with the outside surface of the needle. The needle is positioned within the mold cavity, with its base abutting the core. The barrel is molded against the needle to join the barrel and the needle.

摘要： A child-resistant lift-off cap for a container is adapted to be difficult to unseat independently to open the container. An overlay portion associated with the cap is adapted for use to lift the cap from a container to unseat it. The overlay portion has a thumb tab and is deformable to engage and lift the seated cap only when the thumb tab is lifted. The overlay portion raises independently of the cap when the deformable portion is not deformed into engagement with the cap. Alternatively, a lift-top cap having a slot through it, the slot having a first opening near an edge of the cap to be lifted to unseat the cap and a second opening. A slide in the slot has a first end biased to be flush with or recessed into the first opening and a second end biased to normally protrude out of the second opening. The second end of the slide can be depressed against the bias of the slide to displace the first end of the slide out of the first opening to function as a thumb tab to assist in lifting the cap from a container.

摘要： A method of incorporating an anti-counterfeiting device into a multi-walled container is provided. The multi-walled container includes an inner wall having an outer surface, an outer wall adjacent to the inner wall, and an anti-counterfeiting device sandwiched between the inner and outer walls. The method includes forming the inner wall from a polymeric composition, adhering the anti-counterfeiting device to the outer surface of the inner wall either during, or after formation of the inner wall, and then over molding the outer wall about the inner wall to form the multi-walled container. Suitable anti-counterfeiting devices for incorporation into the multi-walled container include RFID, printed or foil antennae, conductive inks, metal spheres, and x-ray readable foils.

摘要： Containers with child resistant safety caps are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, the cap contains (1) an overlay and (2) a solid base. The overlay fits around at least a portion of the cap's solid base. At an end of the overlay is a thumb tab for facilitating the opening closing of the cap. The overlay also contains a skirt that is perpendicular to the thumb tab. The skirt of the overlay contains a tab. At the end of the solid base proximal to the location of the tab on the overlay (when the cap is in the closed position) the solid base contains a notch. When the cap is shut, the overlay is secured around the solid base. If an upward force is only applied to the thumb tab, and then the overlay is lifted up, (while the solid base of the cap remains secured to the container. If an upward force is applied to the thumb tab while simultaneously, sufficient inward force is applied to tab on the overlay to contact and secure the tubular skirt of the cap, then the solid base of the cap is simultaneously lifted up along with the overlay, thereby opening the container. In one embodiment, the overlay contains a top. In another embodiment, the overlay does not contain a top.
