    • An electronic device including at least one electrode on a substrate and a permeation layer overlaying the at least one electrode. The permeation layer comprises a polymer having a plurality of negatively-charged moieties. The negatively charged moieties may be carboxylates. In one embodiment, the negatively charged moieties are carboxylates from acrylic acids in the permeation layer. The amount of acrylic acid may be less than about 5 mol %. The permeation layer may also contain streptavidin and/or a surfactant. Methods of using the electronic device are also disclosed in which at least one of the selectively addressable electrodes are biased to at least partially neutralize the negatively charged moieties in the overlying permeation layer. Charged entities can then bind to the permeation layer over the biased electrode.

    • The invention herein described is the use of a block copolymer/homopolymer blend for creating nanoporous materials for transport applications. Specifically, this is demonstrated by using the block copolymer poly(styrene-block-ethylene-block-styrene) (SES) and blending it with homopolymer polystyrene (PS). After blending the polymers, a film is cast, and the film is submerged in tetrahydrofuran, which removes the PS. This creates a nanoporous polymer film, whereby the holes are lined with PS. Control of morphology of the system is achieved by manipulating the amount of PS added and the relative size of the PS added. The porous nature of these films was demonstrated by measuring the ionic conductivity in a traditional battery electrolyte, 1M LiPF6 in EC/DEC (1:1 v/v) using AC impedance spectroscopy and comparing these results to commercially available battery separators.

    • A luggage trolley comprises a dragging bracket, a retractable drawbar, and at least a wheel set on the bottom of the dragging bracket. On the dragging bracket there is a wheel-moving assembly that can be opened to the forward dragging direction and form a supporting point. The luggage trolley can be very smooth and stable when dragged because it can form a stable structure having three supporting points including the two wheels and a newly-added wheel of the moving wheel-assembly. The newly-added wheel is the pivot which bears the most weight of the luggage when the luggage inclines. It becomes the bearing support and greatly improves the mobility of the trolley when dragged and the stability of the trolley when standing.

    • Embodiments of the invention generally provide pharmaceutical drug compositions, methods of preparing oral drug compositions, such as controlled release dosage compositions for hydrophobic active ingredients. In one aspect, the invention provides a pharmaceutical formulation comprising a therapeutically effective amount of a hydrophobic drug, an adjustable ratio of a non-cross linked hydrogel polymer and a non-gelling insoluble polymer. One example is a controlled release pharmaceutical composition which includes 1% to 80% of a therapeutically amount of cilostazol, 4% to 80% of a water-swelling hydrogel polymer, and 4% to 80% of a non-gelling insoluble polymer. In another aspect, a constant release profile of the pharmaceutical formulation is obtained. In another aspect, a zero degree release profile of the pharmaceutical formulation is obtained. Further, a method for treating intermittent claudication using the pharmaceutical formulation is provided.
