A portable computing system for providing an immersive experience comprises a display; a graphics unit to present the immersive experience to a user on the display; a communication subsystem to determine a resource level of a resource coupled to the portable computing system; wherein the graphics unit is to present a representation of the resource level to the user in the immersive experience; wherein the communication subsystem is to: detect that the resource was replaced with a replacement resource, the replacement caused by a real-world interaction with the resource by the user; and determine a replacement resource level of the replacement resource; and wherein the graphics unit is to present a representation of the replacement resource level in the immersive experience on the display.

摘要： Methods and apparatus relating to reducing switching noise and improving transient response in voltage regulators are described. In an embodiment, one or more pulses are inserted into an output waveform of a voltage regulator. The one or more pulses introduce multiple frequencies into the output waveform of the voltage regulator (e.g., to reduce acoustic noise). In another embodiment, the output voltage of a voltage regulator is modified in response to comparison of the output voltage with at least one of a plurality of threshold values. The plurality of threshold values includes an upper trigger point voltage value and a lower trigger point voltage value. Other embodiments are also disclosed and claimed.

摘要： Embodiments include a synthetic jet device formed within layers of a package substrate, such as to provide a controlled airflow for sensing or cooling applications. The jet device includes an electromagnetically driven vibrating membrane of conductive material between a top and bottom cavity. A top lid with an opening covers the top cavity, and a permanent magnet is below the bottom cavity. An alternating current signal conducted through the membrane causes the membrane to vibrate in the presence of a magnetic field caused by the permanent magnet. By being manufactured with package forming processes, the jet (1) is manufactured more cost-effectively than by using silicon chip or wafer processing; (2) is easily integrated as part of and with the other layers of a package substrate; and (3) can be driven by a chip mounted on the package. Embodiments also include systems having and processes for forming the jet.

摘要： Techniques are disclosed for using synthetic jet technology as an air delivery device for sensing applications. In particular, a synthetic jet device is used to deliver a controlled airflow or other fluidic flow to a sensor measurement area. Such a sensing system can be used to detect accurate concentration of target features present in the ambient surroundings, such as gases, particles, solutions, mixtures, and any other environmental features that can be sensed from a controlled airflow. An example application is air quality monitoring by using one or more synthetic jet devices to deliver a known or otherwise controlled airflow to a sensing area, thereby allowing for detection of harmful or otherwise unacceptable concentrations of particulate matter, gases, or air pollutants. In some embodiments, a synthetic jet device is operatively coupled with a sensor via a flow channel in a common housing, so as to provide a controlled flow sensing system.
