    • The present invention is directed to an apparatus and method for digital-mixing two sound sources, and performing both audio-outputting and encoding-storing of the digital-mixed sound sources. The digital audio player of the present invention includes: an analog-to-digital converter for converting an analog audio signal input through an audio signal input unit to a digital audio signal; a memory for storing a compressed digital audio signal; a mixer for digital-mixing the digital audio signal output from the analog-to-digital converter with a decoded digital music signal from the memory; a digital-to-analog signal converter for converting the digital signal output from the mixer to an analog signal and sending the analog signal to an audio output unit; and a central processing unit for generating a control signal for reading out compressed music data from the memory, decoding the music data, sending the decoded music data to the mixer, encoding the mixed digital signal from the mixer, and then storing the encoded digital signal in the memory. The digital audio playing method uses the digital audio player to perform both encoding and decoding, thereby mixing digital audio signals and realizing both audio-outputting and memory-storing of the digital-mixed audio signals.

    • A DNA (Deoxyribo Nucleic Acid) detection device and a manufacturing method thereof detects DNA by an electrical method without a separate process for detection by using semiconductor microfabrication techniques. The DNA detection device includes a pair of chambers formed on a semiconductor substrate for accommodating a detection sample, a channel connecting the pair of chambers and a lid covering the pair of chambers. According to the present invention, it is possible to attain a DNA detection device, which can be mass-produced from a silicon substrate by using semiconductor manufacturing technology with improved microfabrication techniques, and a manufacturing method thereof.

    • A patch-type extrinsic Fabry-Perot interferometric fiber optic sensor and a real-time structural vibration monitoring method using the same are disclosed. The patch-type extrinsic Fabry-Perot interferometric fiber optic sensor is provided by combining the existing EFPI (Extrinsic Fabry-Perot Interferometer) fiber optic sensor with a direction-detecting sensor which can acquire direction information of a strain of a structure, which can solve a signal distortion problem occurring in the existing EFPI fiber optic sensor through a simple signal process. The patch-type extrinsic Fabry-Perot interferometric fiber optic sensor includes a piezoelectric material which can apply a control force to the existing EFPI fiber optic sensor, and a self-sensing bridge circuit for extracting the direction information when the piezoelectric material is used as an actuator, so that the sensible range of strain can be extended and the piezoelectric material can directly be used as the actuator based on the sensed signal.
