    • A precut strip of 35 mm. photographic film 5 is wound onto a magazine spool 3 by inserting the leading end of the film strip into an aligned spool slot 3a, rotating the spool to wind the film strip thereon, enclosing the wound spool with an open slotted cylindrical cover or shell 4, pinch or squeeze closing the cover slot, and placing caps 1, 2 over the open ends of the cover. A plurality of apparatusses 7 for automatically implementing the above steps are mounted at spaced positions on a continuously moving endless conveyor 6 disposed adjacent a plurality of stationary cams which controllingly engage followers on the apparatusses during the conveyor movement, and all of the work operations are performed on the same moving spool shaft axes, whereby greatly increased production speeds are possible.

    • A miniature video magnetic tape cassette which is easy to assemble. An opening is formed in a front part of a cassette body which is covered by a guard panel, with the guard panel being swingably supported on the cassette body by shafts protruding from an inner surface of the side walls of the guard panel fitted into openings in the cassette body. A coil spring is supported on each supporting shaft with one end of each spring engaged with the guard panel to urge the guard panel toward the closed position of the opening. The other end of each coil spring is held by a locking structure provided on an inner surface adjacent to side wall of the upper half of the cassette body. The locking structure may be a locking shaft with the other end of the coil spring engaged with the locking shaft. Otherwise, the locking structure can be formed by a gap between the side wall of the upper half of the cassette and a supporting side wall inwardly thereof, in which case the other end of the coil spring is inserted into the gap and fixedly held therein with a block fitted in the gap.

    • A magnetic tape cassette in which the assembly operation of the cassette is made more efficient by prevention of a brake member from springing out of the cassette. A protrusion is formed on at least one of a pair of confronting brake member guides extending from one half of the case of the cassette, while an indentation is formed in the brake member extending parallel to the sliding direction of the brake member and positioned to receive the protrusion when the brake member is fitted between the guides. Engagement of the protrusion with the indentation prevents the brake member from springing out during the assembly of the cassette.

    • A magnetic tape cassette having an improved guard panel structure for eliminating dust and the like from entering the cassette when the cassette is not being used. The guard panel of the cassette of the invention has a dual-cover structure, including an outer cover which covers the opening through which the tape is pulled from the cassette, and an inner cover having guide protrusions slidably engaged with guide grooves formed in the inner side walls of tape withdrawal holes provided at the opposite sides of the opening and pivotally supported on the outer cover to move in association with the outer cover. In one embodiment, one of the grooved side walls which form the guide grooves is made elastic to push the other guide protrusion into elastic abutment with the opposite side wall. In another embodiment, a leaf spring is fixed to the body of the cassette and elastically engages one of the guide protrusions.
