    • An image scanning apparatus includes a scanning unit which scans paper, a paper transfer unit which transfers the paper to the scanning unit using a BLDC (Brushless DC) motor, a sensor unit which senses driving information of the BLDC motor, a scan controlling unit which controls operations of the scanning unit, and generates a control command including information regarding a driving direction of the BLDC motor, a driving signal unit which generates a driving signal for controlling the BLDC motor, and a digital controlling unit which controls operations of the driving signal unit in a digital method based on a generated control command, sensed driving information and a digital gain value according to a driving direction of the BLDC motor.

    • An apparatus and method for controlling a motor are provided, in which a speed measuring unit measures the rotational speed of a motor at various positions during an experimental revolution of the motor; a speed change detecting unit detects changes in the rotational speed of the motor at the various positions of the rotating motor due to a cogging torque based on the measured rotational speed; a speed storing unit stores the measured rotational speed for the various positions of the rotating motor in addresses corresponding to the various positions of the rotating motor; and a motor control unit controls the rotational speed of the motor at the various positions of the rotating motor based on the stored rotational speed. Accordingly, the speed and the position of the motor can be precisely controlled, and print quality deterioration in an image forming apparatus due to rotational speed ripples can be avoided.

    • An image forming apparatus includes a plurality of motors, a controller which generates control signals to control the plurality of motors and output the control signals, and a plurality of motor drivers which control corresponding motors among the plurality of motors if the enable signal among the control signal is input, and does not control the motors although the common signal is input if the enable signal is not input. Accordingly, the image forming apparatus may control a plurality of motors which is not necessary to be driven at the same time using an enable signal and thus the motors may be effectively controlled with low expense.
