摘要： The present invention is a composition and a method of forming a composition, the composition comprising at least a halogenated elastomer and an amine or phosphine. An additional rubber component may be present in the composition of the invention. In one embodiment, the halogenated elastomer is a isoolefin copolymer comprising a halomethylstyrene derived unit. The amine or phosphine compound is represented by the formula (R1R2R3)Q, wherein Q is a Group 15 element, and wherein R1 is either hydrogen or a C4 to C30 hydrocarbyl group, R2 is either hydrogen or a C1 to C30 hydrocarbyl group; and R3 is either hydrogen or a C1 to C30 hydrocarbyl group provided that at least one of R1, R2 and R3 is not hydrogen. The additional rubber is selected from butyl rubber, halogenated butyl rubber, star-branched butyl rubber, halogenated star-branched butyl rubber, isobutylene homopolymer, butadiene rubber, neoprene, nitrile rubbers, ethylene/propylene/diene terpolymers, ethylene/propylene copolymers, styrene butadiene rubbers, polybutadiene, polyisoprene, isoolefin/alkylstyrene copolymer, halogenated isoolefin/alkylstyrene copolymer, natural rubber, polypropylene, polyethylene, polyurethane, polyvinyl chloride, silicon rubber, propylene oxide polymer, and mixtures thereof.

摘要： This invention relates to extrusion and injection moldable type elastomeric compositions having improved compression set properties and having a viscosity at 200.degree. C. at 0.73 sec.sup.-1 of about 8.times.10.sup.3 to about 8.times.10.sup.5 poises. The compositions used for elastomeric articles include a major portion of neutralized sulfonated EPDM terpolymer and a minor portion of an unsulfonated EPDM terpolymer or EP copolymer and optionally less than about 150 parts by weight of a non-polar process oil per 100 parts of the sulfonated polymer; less than about 300 parts by weight of a filler per 100 parts of the sulfonated polymer; and a preferential plasticizer at about 1 to about 60 parts by weight per 100 parts of the sulfonated elastomeric polymer.These blend compositions can be readily processed due to their superior rheological properties on conventional plastic fabrication equipment into elastomeric articles having improved compression set properties characteristics.

The composition may also include a crystalline polyolefinic thermoplastic at less then about 100 parts per hundred by weight.These blend compositions can be readily processed due to their superior rheological properties on conventional plastic fabrication equipment into elastomeric articles having excellent physical properties and desirable rubbery characteristics.

摘要： The invention provides a thermoplastic composition of C4-C7 isoolefin copolymers including halomethylstyrene derived units blended with a hindered amine or phosphine of the structure R1 R2 R3 N or R1 R2 R3 P wherein R1, R2 and R3 are preferably lower and higher alkyl groups. The resulting ionically associated, amino or phosphine modified elastomers are used to prepare thermoplastic elastomer blend compositions, including dynamically vulcanized compositions, containing more finely dispersed elastomers which results in compositions having improved mechanical properties.

摘要： This invention relates to a method to process narrow molecular weight distribution polyolefins, particularly thermoplastics, polyethylenes, polypropylenes, and polyacrylates, whether they are homopolymers or copolymers. The process may be used in any extruder and is typically implemented along the extruder screw and/or barrel by heating the first zone the screw/barrel to place the polyolefin into a molten, flowable state. Thereafter, the polymer is cooled in the second heating zone to a point 50.degree. C. above or 10.degree. C. below the crystalline melting temperature of the polymer and thereafter is reheated in the final heating zone to a molten, flowable state and finally extruding it within 5 seconds or less through the die.
