    • The low noise punch tool (17) of this invention includes an upper surface pad (51) formed of a low noise material and disposed on an upper surface of a punch head (37) to be struck by a striker (25) of a punch press. Further, an elastic member (55) formed of a low noise material is interposed between the punch head (37) and a punch guide (43), and a ring (53) formed of a low noise material is interposed between the punch body (39, 41) and the punch guide (43). The low noise punch tool (17) includes a lower surface pad (63) formed of a low noise material and attached to a lower surface of a stripper plate (45) provided at a lower end of the punch guide (43). The low noise material may be urethane. Yet further, the cutting edge (41a) provided at the lower end of the punch body (41) has preferably a shearing angle. This punch tool is advantageous in that the noises of the punch tool during punching is significantly reduced, and the structure thereof is simple.

    • A tilt hinge for office equipment such as a compact personal computer, has a mounting plate and a bearing plate that is at right angles to the mounting plate. A torque generating part of a shaft is press fit into one part of an elastic fastening curl member. The curl part is at the tip of the bearing plate. Another torque part of the shaft is also press fit into a modified curl part of the curl member. The curl part is moved circumferentially by an adjustment screw so that torque generated by the torque generating part of the shaft can be adjusted and is stable. The modified engaging curl part also has a flat part pressed against a portion of the shaft on an inner surface of the curl member.

    • A punching tool for a press, includes a punch guide having a stripper plate at a lower end thereof. A punch body is formed with a blade portion at a lower end thereof and disposed within the punch guide for up and down movement. A punch driver includes a piston rod fixed to the punch body. A gas spring section has a gas cylinder, the piston rod of the punch driver extending through the gas cylinder for up and down movement. A high pressure gas is contained in the gas cylinder to bias the punch driver upward, and an annular elastic member is interposed between an upper surface of the punch guide and a lower surface of the gas cylinder of the gas spring section to absorb shock generated when the stripper plate attached to the punch guide collides against work during a punching process. The punching tool can reduce noise generated during punching processing and further can prevent a punching mark (scar) from being formed on the surface of the punched work.

    • A hinge apparatus for portable electronic devices such as portable telephones and handheld personal computers can be manufactured with a small and simple structure at a low cost. The hinge apparatus has a shaft with a flange, a cam engaged with an end of the shaft and; a slide cam engaged with the shaft between the cam and the flange. The slide cam is rotatably with the shaft and slidably in an axial direction. A compression spring is rolled around the shaft, and elastically provided between the slide cam and the flange. The cam has a pair of projections on one side surface at opposite positions, and the slide cam has cam members press-contacted with the projections. Otherwise, provided is a hinge apparatus which connects a microphone and a earphone of a portable telephone. The hinge apparatus comprises: a shaft having a flange with a rotation stopper, fixed in a hole provided at an attachment member in an axial direction provided at an end of the microphone or earphone, at one end; a cam having a rotation stopper, holding the shaft rotatably inserted through an insertion hole provided in a central axis direction of the shaft, engaged with the other end of the shaft, and fixed in a hole provided at an attachment member in the axial direction at an end opposite to the end where the flange is fixed; a slide cam, provided between the cam and the flange, engaged with the shaft inserted through a central portion, rotatably with the shaft and slidably in the axial direction; and a compression spring rolled around the shaft, and elastically provided between the slide cam and the flange. The cam has a pair of projections on one side surface at opposite positions, and the slide cam has cam members press-contacted with the projections.
