摘要： In a seat belt control device of the invention, when a buckle switch detects disengagement of a buckle and a tongue plate of a seat belt, the seat belt is retracted through a motor. In addition, the seat belt is re-retracted, through a motor, when a passenger detector detects that no passenger is present in an automobile, when a door switch detects that a door opens, or when an engine key switch detects that an engine key is pulled out or is in an off state. Thus, the seat belt can be positively retracted. Therefore, when a passenger gets off or is going to get off, the seat belt can be securely retracted to thereby prevent the seat belt from being caught by a projection in a compartment or by the door of the automobile.

摘要： To provide a pretensioner with improved safety, wherein gas is allowed to escape appropriately in the event that the internal gas pressure rises excessively, and there are no adverse effects on other equipment. A pretensioner is provided with a pipe and multiple balls are provided within the pipe. The balls are metal spheres such as aluminum and the ball nearest the gas generator is formed of a suitable material such as a resin of silicone rubber. A hole is bored in the resin ball in the longitudinal direction of the pipe. The hole is plugged off at the side of the gas generator and is opened on the side of the ball. A through hole perforating the next ball to the resin ball is bored in the longitudinal direction. A rod-shaped piston is stored between the hole of the resin ball and the hole of the next ball. When abnormal pressure is generated, the resin ball breaks and the gas pressure is placed directly on the piston. The abnormal pressure is thereby provided a pathway to dissipate in the direction of the balls'movement.

The seatbelt retractor includes a motor-power transmission device for controlling a motor-power transmission path to turn on and off transmission of motor power to the spool. The motor-power transmission device turns on only when the motor rotates in the belt winding direction to connect the motor-power transmission path and transmit the motor power to the spool. After a specific period of time since a buckle-releasing signal detecting release of a tongue from a buckle is received from a buckle switch, the motor control device rotates the motor in the belt winding direction. When a winding speed of the seatbelt webbing by the spring becomes less than a constant value, the motor-power transmission device is set to turn on so as to connect the motor-power transmission path.
