摘要： An apparatus for concealing an error of a moving pictures transform coding includes the first concealment circuit (19) for analyzing data according to a type of the data, the data being error-detected but not corrected by an error correction decoding by the decoder (12), for replacing the data with a specific data according to the analyzed result by using a predetermined method, and for outputting a specific signal therefrom, and the second concealment circuit (22) connected to the first concealment circuit (19) for replacing reproduced pixel values of an error-occurred block with reproduced pixel values of a previous frame according to the signal output from the first concealment circuit (19) in case that the data being error-detected but not corrected is data of a predetermined frequency component or data of an additional information.

摘要： In an image data compression method to be employed in coding digital image data whose pixels are represented by n bits and which include 2.sup.n different types of runs, while a run length of a current run is counted, a value representing a run type of the current run is predicted. The prediction is repeated till a predicted value coincides with an actual value of the run type of the current run. When a predicted value does not coincide with the actual value of the run type of the current run, a run length for an imaginary run having the predicted value is regarded as zero and the run length 0 of the imaginary run is entropy coded. On the other hand, when a predicted value coincides with an actual value, the actual run length of the current run is entropy coded.
