摘要： A recording apparatus, which uses an ink sheet having ink of plural colors coated sequentially thereon and transferring ink to a recording medium for recording in accordance with image data, is capable of recording on a plurality of recording media having different sizes, at the same time, being capable of using selectively plural ink sheets each corresponding to each of the plural recording media of different sizes. This recording apparatus comprises a device for detecting the size of a recording medium to detect the size of the recording medium to be used for recording; a device for detecting the size of an ink sheet to detect the size of a recording medium corresponding to the ink sheet to be used for recording; and controlling a device to control the recording operation in accordance with the size of the detected recording medium and the size of the recording medium corresponding to the detected ink sheet. With these devices thus arranged, it is made possible to record without recording improperly any smaller images that may be unfit for the size of the recording sheet or staining the platen and others in the interior of the apparatus even when the recording medium and the ink sheet installed thereon are different in its sizes or the user does not designate the size of the recording medium to be used.

摘要： In order to print an image at a high speed without using any large-capacity power supply unit, the image to be printed is segmented into grayscale-specific areas before printing, and the cumulative number of printing elements required to print the respective grayscale-specific areas is counted to predict a necessary power. On the basis of the prediction result, the image is then printed by selecting the highest convey speed from convey speeds at which upper limit powers used and rated average power consumption are determined. This makes it possible to provide an image printing method and apparatus which can realize high-speed image printing.

This apparatus prints an image on a printing medium having perforations that allow easy cutoff of margin portions by applying ink to the printing medium across the perforations, and forms a protection layer on the printing medium on which the image has been formed by transferring a protection agent avoiding the perforation portions.

摘要： In converting image sensing data into image data, a plurality of image sensing data meeting a predetermined condition are processed as a group of image sensing data. An image reproduction parameter is obtained from this image sensing data group, and each image sensing data of the image sensing data group is converted into image data by using the image reproduction parameter. Accordingly, an image reproduction parameter for obtaining an optimum reproduced image can be accurately set from the image sensing data group. Also, since a reproduction luminance level (range) is determined from the image sensing data group, the correlation between the luminances of image planes is not lost. This allows an easy comparison of reproduced images and prevents the boundaries of luminances from becoming unnatural when the reproduced images are synthesized.
