摘要： This invention discloses a compact of hydrogen adsorption alloy principally composed of a metal hydride in which all surfaces of fine particles of hydrogen adsorption alloy are completely coated with a dissimilar metal by plating, without effecting reactivity and a porous material of high thermal conductivity is infiltrated with the fine particles of alloy to be formed into a compact by compression molding.By this construction, it is possible to improve decline in the thermal conductivity or dropping of the fine particles out of cells of the porous material caused by micronization as a result of repeated uses of the hydrogen adsorption alloy are avoided.

摘要： This invention discloses a heat exchanger comprising a compact of hydrogen adsorption alloy formed by a process of coating surfaces of fine particles of hydrogen adsorption alloy composed principally of a metal hydride with a dissimilar metal by plating and either by a process of compression molding of the coated alloy or by a process of filling a heat-conductive porous material with the coated fine particles of hydrogen alloy followed by a process of compression molding thereof. By this arrangement, it becomes possible to improve such disadvantages of conventional heat exchanger using hydrogen adsorption alloy as a decline of heat conductivity caused by micronization of the hydrogen adsorption alloy as a result of repeated uses or a decline of filling rate of the alloy caused by collapse and dispersion of the fine particles of the alloy compact eventually bringing about a decline of the heat exchanging function.

摘要： This invention relates to a method for manufacturing a heat transfer module to improve the thermal efficiency of a hydrogen adsorption alloy. The hydrogen absorption alloy particles are coated with a metal which is different from that of the alloy, followed by the formation of a compact with the coated particles. The compact so formed has a substantially uniform specific gravity. The compact is then inserted in a pipe mode of a metal which is different from that of the alloy. The pipe has an internal diameter which is a function of the diameter of the compact and the free expansion coefficient of the compact. The method will improve the usefulness of hydrogen adsorption alloy in practical use.

A sectional image statistic calculation measure calculates a mean value and standard deviation of characteristic value of brightness and so forth of the sectional image with input image being subjected to division processing into sectional image. A background sectional image selection measure causes a sectional image whose standard deviation is the smallest value in the sectional images to be taken as the sectional image with high probability of including only the background. A background statistic estimation measure investigates the sectional image including only the background and another sectional image under the relationship between the mean value and the standard deviation. This investigation is implemented in terms of whole sectional images, a threshold generation object detectable and background removal measure discriminates the background and the detected target object based on predetermined calculation procedure. For instance, a second threshold is in use, which is obtained in such a way that the standard deviation multiplied by constant number given beforehand from the mean value is added thereto.

摘要： In a red-eye detection/retouch apparatus, a first area extraction unit receives an image including a red eye and a signal representing a small area including the red eye and designated by a user and extracts a first area including the red eye. A first pixel selection unit detects the reddest pixel from the first area and outputs coordinate values and color information of the pixel. A determination unit determines whether the other red eye is present on the basis of the signal representing the small area and the coordinate values of the reddest pixel. The determination unit outputs an instruction signal for extracting a second area where the other red eye is present upon determining that the other red eye is present. A second area extraction unit receives the instruction signal and extracts the second area from the first area. A second pixel selection unit detects the reddest pixel from the second area and outputs coordinate values and color information of the pixel. An area expansion unit receives the coordinate values and color information of the pixels and the first area, detects a red-eye area by area expansion, and outputs the red-eye area. An image synthesis unit receives the red-eye area and the image including the red eye and outputs an image whose red-eye area has been corrected to a natural pupil color.
