摘要： A tapered roller bearing improves durability during a state of insufficient lubrication by sufficiently lengthening the time until rotation becomes impossible due to seizure. Oil retaining concave sections, recessed outward in the radial direction, are formed in portions on the inner circumferential surface of a large-diameter rim section of the retainer whose phase in the circumferential direction coincides with the pockets. A portion of the bottom surface of each of the oil retaining concave sections, open to the inside surface of the pocket, face a concave section formed in an end surface on the large-diameter side of tapered roller that is held inside the pocket. When lubrication becomes insufficient, oil remaining in the concave sections is effectively used for lubricating areas of sliding contact between the end surfaces on the large-diameter side and the inside surface in the axial direction of a large-diameter side flange section.

摘要： In a fixing device employed in an electrophotographic imaging apparatus for fusing an unfixed toner image carrier on a recording sheet, a heat roller and a back-up roller are provided. The heat roller is provided with a heater mechanism installed therein, wherein the heater mechanism is arranged such that the temperature of a portion of the heat roller corresponding to the passing area of the recording sheet is higher than that of the other portions of the heat roller so that the temperature distribution of the heat roller heated by the heater mechanism becomes substantially uniform along its axial direction while the recording sheet is passing through the nip between the heat roller and the back-up roller.

摘要： An inside contamination preventing mechanism is provided that is adapted to be positioned in an imaging apparatus utilizing an electrophotographic system for forming an image on a predetermined recording medium and having an air directing mechanism including an air intake portion through which air flows from the outside of the imaging apparatus and a driving member for driving the air to a predetermined portion through a predetermined area within the imaging apparatus, and a toner containing member that is located adjacent to the air intake portion for containing the toner particles remaining in the imaging apparatus after an imaging operation onto the predetermined recording medium. The inside contamination preventing mechanism includes a cover member provided on an inner surface of the imaging apparatus for covering an opening of the toner containing member. Thus, it becomes possible to prevent the toner from floating in the air, and accordingly, it becomes possible to keep the inside of the imaging apparatus clean.

The developing apparatus includes a developer case in which a developer having a mixture of a toner and a carrier is stored, a developing roll which is located in the developer case and which is partially exposed to the outside of the developer case adjacent to a photosensitive drum, a front stirring roll which is located below the developing roll in the developer case to make a flow of developer in the developer case and below the developing roll, a rear stirring roll which is located rearwardly of the front stirring roll in the developer case to create a flow of developer in a direction opposite to the direction of flow of the developer produced by the front stirring roll, and a guide plate located between the front and rear stirring rolls for guiding most of the developer which falls form the developing roll towards the front stirring roll.

摘要： In an image fixing apparatus, a fixing roll unit is arranged in a predetermined path along which a continuous form travels, for applying pressure and/or heat to an image on the continuous form to fix the image thereonto. An endless belt member is arranged upstream of the fixing roll unit with reference to a transport direction in which the continuous form travels along the predetermined path. The endless belt member has provided thereon a plurality of projections arranged in spaced relation to each other along an outer periphery of the endless belt member. The projections are engageable with sprocket holes formed in the continuous form along opposite side edges thereof. The endless belt member is capable of running in the transport direction while applying a predetermined back-tension to the continuous form traveling toward the fixing roll unit along the predetermined path.

摘要： A method of and an apparatus for supplying a record medium to an electrophotograph printer. The printer includes a photosensitive means on which are formed electrostatic latent images concerning with images to be printed on the basis of images data. The latent images are then converted by applying toner to the latent images to sensible images which are then transferred to the record medium at a transfer position where the sensible images are in opposition to a printable zone of the record medium to form printed images. A time from starting motion of the photosensitive means to a moment when the sensible images have arrived at the transfer position is predetermined and the record medium is supplied into the printer so that a leading end of the printable zone of the record medium arrives at the transfer position when the sensible images have arrived at the transfer position. Moreover, the record medium is supplied into the printer so that the record medium is spaced from the photosensitive means by a distance sufficient to prohibit the toner from clinging to the record medium means until the sensible images arrive at the transfer position.
