    • A thermosensitive recording material having high transmittance density, excellent reproducibility of fine dot images and half tone images under printing conditions ranging from low to high applied printing energy. The thermosensitive recording material, including a substrate and a thermosensitive coloring layer, formed on the substrate, the thermosensitive coloring layer including a leuco dye, a coloring developer for inducing color formation in the leuco dye upon application of heat thereto and binder resins, and an optional protective layer, formed on the thermosensitive coloring layer, wherein the binder resins include at least two resins having different glass transition temperature Tg and are present in total amount of more than about 0.25 parts by weight per 1 part of total weight of the thermosensitive coloring layer.

    • A transparent thermosensitive recording material capable of producing an image therein has a transparent support and a thermosensitive recording layer formed thereon, the recording layer containing a colorless or light-colored leuco dye, a color developer capable of inducing coloring formation in the leuco dye, and a binder resin. The image obtained in the recording material exhibits an absorbance of 3.0 or more at 610 nm when the image has a maximum transmission density, and the ratio of the absorbance at 700 nm to the absorbance at 610 nm is in a range of 0.1 to 0.3 within the region from a transmission density of the image of 1.0 to the maximum transmission density thereof.

    • A transparent thermosensitive recording material is provided which includes a transparent substrate, a thermosensitive recording layer formed on the substrate, and a protective layer which is formed on the thermosensitive recording layer and including a resin, wherein the protective layer has a microscopically rough surface with projections and pits in which a 95% confidence interval of a distribution of a number of sections of projections in a depth direction of the surface of the protective layer is less than about 0.5 .mu.m and a maximum number of the sections in the distribution of the number of sections is from about 100 to about 500 per 1000 .mu.m.sup.2 when the surface of the protective layer is horizontally cut 41 times at equally spaced intervals between a top of a maximum projection of the surface and a bottom of a maximum pit of the surface of the protective layer. The transparent thermosensitive recording material has high transparency, good image qualities without undesirable white streaks and good ability to be used with thermal printheads without sticking to the thermal printheads.

    • A thermosensitive recording material is provided which includes a substrate, a thermosensitive recording layer formed on the substrate and including a binder resin, a coloring agent and a coloring developer inducing color formation in the coloring agent upon application of heat thereto, and a protective layer formed on the thermosensitive recording layer and including a resin, wherein the protective layer includes a particulate organic filler (A) whose average particle diameter is from about 1.2 to about 3.0 times the thickness of the protective layer and a particulate organic filler (B) having an average particle diameter of from about 0.05 to about 0.7 .mu.m. The thermosensitive recording material has good image qualities without undesired white streaks and good ability to be used with thermal printheads without sticking to and wearing out the thermal printheads.
