    • The method for operating a hearing device having an adjustable transfer function comprising M sub-functions, wherein M is an integer with M≧1, and wherein said transfer function describes how input audio signals generated by an input transducer unit of said hearing device relate to output audio signals to be fed to an output transducer unit of said hearing device, comprises the steps of: deriving said input audio signals from a current acoustic environment; and for each of said M sub-functions: deriving, on the basis of said input audio signals and for each class of N classes each of which describes a predetermined acoustic environment, a class similarity factor indicative of the similarity of said current acoustic environment with the predetermined acoustic environment described by the respective class, wherein N is an integer with N≧2; deriving from N predetermined base parameter sets assigned to the respective sub-function and in dependence of said class similarity factors an activity parameter set for the respective sub-function, wherein each of said N base parameter sets assigned to the respective sub-function is assigned to a different class of said N classes; adjusting the respective sub-function by means of said activity parameter set. It is suggested to use a time-averaged activity parameter set. An improved adaptation of the hearing device to a current acoustic environment can be achieved.

    • An apparatus for ultrasonically determining fluid flow passing through a measurement section includes a tube which has two ends and an average predetermined inner cross-sectional area; the tube constitutes the measurement section. A sound-emitting transducer is disposed near one end of the tube, which has a first sound-transfer surface, and a sound-receiving transducer disposed near the other end of the tube, which has a second sound transfer surface. Each sound transfer surface is disposed at a sufficiently large predetermined distance from a corresponding end of the tube, so as to permit the fluid flowing through the tube. A fluid-receiving chamber communicates with the one end of the tube, and has a first average cross-sectional area, and a fluid-discharge chamber communicates with the other end of the tube, and has a second average cross-sectional area. The tube extends through the chambers, and each of the first and second cross-sectional areas exceeds the inner cross-sectional area by a factor of at least two. At least one of the chambers surrounds a corresponding end of the tube along at least a portion of the tube exceeding the average inner width thereof.

    • The present invention is a one-phase stepping motor having a predetermined direction of rotation. The motor comprises a rotor having 2p permanently magnetized poles on its outer surface. The rotor is surrounded by a coil, which when energized forms the main stator poles. Auxiliary pole arms extend into the space between the coil and the rotor.The rotor and coil are stored in a two-part housing which magnetically isolates the motor. The auxiliary pole arms extend inward from the top and bottom surfaces of the housing and are formed integrally therewith.The arrangement of the auxiliary pole arms serves to determine the direction of rotation of the rotor. Illustratively, the auxiliary pole arms are divided into groups. Within each group, the auxiliary pole arms are at a distance from the rotor that decreases gradually or in stages in the direction of rotation of the rotor.This one-phase stepping motor is especially suitable for driving counting mechanisms in electricity meters.
