摘要： In a multilayered system having a hierarchical structure and comprising a plurality of programs, optimal operation parameters for each program are computed. A parameter setting unit 104 sets a parameter 111 for an operation of each program 112. A program start/stop unit 105 starts and stops operation of each program 112. A performance information measurement unit 106 measures performance information of the multilayered system 110. An experiment control unit 102 activates the unit 104, the unit 105, and the unit 106, and executes experiments for operating the multilayered system 110. A next parameter set decision unit. 103 decides a combination of parameters used in a next experiment based on a result of measurement of the performance information. The tuning control unit 101 controls the unit 102 and the unit 103 to repeat the experiment until a condition for termination of the experiment is satisfied.

摘要： Standby computers are dynamically divided into groups according to the difference between the software thereof and the software required of a business system. When a computer is made available, the standby computers divided into groups by software structure are searched and an appropriate one is extracted to quickly complete the construction of the software environment. An active computer, if to be transferred to standby mode, is associated with the group having the same software structure as the business system with which the active computer has thus far operated. The active/standby states of the computers are monitored, and the standby computers are changed thereby to widen the possible range of application to other business systems, removing copy operation of disk images from the active computer to the standby computers.

摘要： A method is proposed for recovering high-temperature exhaust gases of high inflammability in terms of carbonaceous concentration from the partial combustion, at atmospheric pressure or near atmospheric pressure, of a mixture of pulverized bituminous or subbituminous coal and air as oxidizer gas, enriched with oxygen gas in a combustor apparatus having a cylindrical combustion chamber with a tangential injection duct, through which the fuel mixture is introduced into the combustion chamber to develop into a rapidly swirling vortex optimizing burning over a short period of time. As a result, the high-temperature, inflammable exhaust gases are generated, of which the heat is recovered to produce steam in a boiler. After losing portion of their heat to the boiler, the inflammable gases, following purification by a filter and desulfurization unit, recovery for subsequent thermal use in boilers, metallurgical or other chemical processes. The ash and other non-combustible products present in the gases are caused to move out outwardly in the combustion chamber as molten slag, forming the outermost part of the vortex, and flow down along the inner wall of the combustor apparatus into its bottom where the slag is collected through a tapping port at the bottom.

摘要： In a client processing apparatus, each application program independently performs communication with a server processing apparatus in spite of relevance between the application programs. For example, when plural application programs issue a request at the same timing in correspondence with a user's operation, the operation speed of the application program may become low. A request which occurs at the same timing of a particular request outputted from an application program to the server processing apparatus is previously defined in a communication grouping table. When the application program actually outputs a request, the communication grouping table is referred to, then the request and a request in the table to occur at the same timing are transmitted at once to the server processing apparatus. The server processing apparatus processes the plural requests at once, and returns the result of processing to the client processing apparatus.
