摘要： A waste toner collecting system in an image forming apparatus which forms on the surface of an image carrier an electrostatic latent image corresponding to an original image, develops the latent image with toner and transferrs the toner image onto a copy material. The waste toner collecting system comprises a cleaning unit for removing residual toner from the image carrier after the toner image has been transferred, a container, independent of the cleaning unit, for storing the removed waste toner, and a transport device for conveying the waste toner removed by the cleaning unit to the container, with an outlet formed in the toner transport device so as to discharge the waste toner, a waste toner inlet formed in the container at a position corresponding to the outlet in the toner transport device, and shutter members provided for the outlet and the inlet, respectively, the shutter members being opened or closed according to as the waste toner container is mounted or dismounted.

摘要： A counter reset arrangement employed in an image forming apparatus such as a photocopier which is provided with a cartridge removably mounted in a main body of the apparatus and internally accommodating at least a photoreceptor and a cleaning unit integrally, and a resettable counter securely mounted in the main body of the apparatus to detect a remaining service life of the cartridge. The counter reset arrangement includes a reset member movably disposed in the cartridge and having a first protruding portion pressed against at a first position when mounting the cartridge, by a cabinet provided in the apparatus and a second protruding portion formed to press against a reset pin disposed on the counter to reset it. The counter reset arrangement further includes a first plate-like member disposed inside the cartridge to bias the reset member towards its second position where the first protruding portion is kept out of contact with the cabinet, so that the reset member is shifted to its second position after the counter has been reset by the second protruding portion through movement of the reset member caused by the cabinet and a second plate-like member also disposed inside the cartridge to bias the reset member against the first plate-like member towards its first position so that the reset member can be returned to the first position.

摘要： An forming apparatus of the present invention is provided with a waste-toner transport unit that is installed separately from a photoreceptor drum cartridge. The waste-toner transport unit is pivoted so that the photoreceptor drum cartridge is easily removed from a machine main body. This arrangement makes it possible to miniaturize the photoreceptor drum cartridge and to use the waste-toner transport unit repeatedly. In another image forming apparatus of the present invention, a developer-supplying container, a waste-toner container, and a waste-developer container for receiving excessive developer that has been overflown from the developer tank are integrally formed into a container unit. This arrangement makes it possible to reduce the volumes of the containers in accordance with the respective supplying quantities of developer. Further, a pressing mechanism is provided so that upon replacing the container unit, the developer tank is brought apart from and close to the photoreceptor drum simultaneously with the pivotal movement of the container unit. This arrangement makes it possible to reduce the number of steps that are taken in the replacing operation as well as to prevent misoperations such as caused by negligence of duty in pressing the developer tank toward the photoreceptor.

摘要： A document feeder includes: a document detecting device arranged on the top of the copier body, for detecting a document inserted from the outside; a feed roller arranged adjacent to the document detecting device, on the top of the copier body, for feeding an inserted document into a space between the original table and the original cover, in response to the detection of a document by the document detecting device; and an original cover lifting device arranged on the top of the copier body, for lifting the original cover to create a gap between the original table and the original cover, in response to the detection of a document by the document detecting device. Alternatively, the feed roller further has a rotary cam on its shaft, so that the cam rotates to lift the original cover up as the feed roller rotates in the document feeding direction. Then, after the document is fed in place, the feed roller is reversely rotated in a constant time, whereby the document cover is sunk to press the document onto the original table.

摘要： There is provided a semiconductor device that suppresses the occurrence of resin burrs and has favorable electrical connectivity and bond strength, and a manufacturing method for such semiconductor device. A resin-coated metal part is manufactured by forming an organic coating by depositing a material including functional organic molecules on a wiring lead composed of a metallic material. Each of the functional organic molecules includes a main chain, a first functional group having a metal bonding property, and a second functional group. The first functional group and the second functional group are provided at different ends of the main chain. Thereafter the functional organic molecules self-assemble by bonding of the first functional groups to metal atoms of the wiring lead. After performing the organic coating formation step, resin is adhered to a predetermined surface area of the wiring lead having the organic coating formed thereon.

The control circuit initiates supplying transfer power to one or more first transfer rollers and to a second transfer roller when a first transfer operation is initiated by a first transfer roller positioned most upstream with respect to a direction in which an intermediate transfer belt travels.
