    • An apparatus for power production from low velocity fluid flow includes a lateral support arm assembly extending from a vertical drive shaft. A power blade is pivotally secured to the distal end of the support arm, and constrained to pivot within a defined operating angle. The center of force on the power blade is proximal to the power blade pivot, so that at the limit of travel of the support arm the thrust on the power blade moves the power blade into an over-center position, causing the power blade to pivot in retrograde fashion. The pivoted power blade then drives the support arm away from the extreme position, through a neutral position, to the opposite angular position, where the process reiterates and reverses. Thus the lateral support arm is driven continuously in oscillating, lateral motion. An exciter blade joined to the proximal end of the support arm creates a force that augments the torque created by the power blade, and drives the arm past the over-center point of the power blade, causing the power blade to rotate and drive the arm retrograde toward the neutral position. A latch maintains the exciter blade aligned with the arm as it pivots from the neutral (midline) position toward the angular limit of the arm.

    • A lateral thrust drive apparatus for watercraft includes a pair of panel-like blades joined to a respective pair of arms in limited rotational fashion. The arms extend to a pair of parallel drive shafts which extend from a drive housing. Within the housing, a gear assembly drives the shafts in equal and opposite angular excursions, so that the blades diverge and converge in reciprocal fashion. The housing may be removably secured to the stern of a watercraft, and a handle extending from the housing and secured to the gear assembly may be pumped reciprocally to drive the blades and thus propel the craft.

    • A device for supporting a set of golf clubs includes a door having a vertical interior surface and an inclined surface that slopes downwardly and outwardly from the interior surface at the lower end of the door. Golf clubs are inserted into the device in an inverted condition, so that grip ends of the clubs contact the inclined surface. A second point of contact with the clubs is provided by a support structure that extends from the interior surface to contact shafts of the clubs near the club heads. A third point of contact is at a side of the golf clubs both opposite to and intermediate of the first two points of contact, thereby providing a triangular configuration of contact support. In the preferred embodiment, the third point of contact is provided by a member that projects inwardly beyond a panel which provides a support seat for the grip ends of the clubs.

    • There is disclosed a metal container containing a beverage or food having its internal surface coated with an adherent sanitary liner, the coating being a cured layer of a water-based coating composition consisting essentially of from about 5 percent to about 60 percent by weight of an amine-neutralized or partially neutralized interpolymer formed in the presence of a vinyl polymerization catalyst and in the absence of mercaptan, the interpolymer being comprised of from about 10 percent to about 30 percent of acrylamide or methacrylamide in units of the structure: ##STR1## where R' is methyl or hydrogen and R is hydrogen or lower alkyl, from about 5 percent to about 15 percent of units formed by vinyl polymerization of monoethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid; from about 10 percent to about 30 percent of units derived by vinyl polymerization of monovinyl aromatic monomer; from about 10 percent to about 30 percent of units formed by vinyl polymerization of flexibilizing monomer selected from lower alkyl acrylates such as ethyl acrylate; and from about 20 percent to about 45 percent of nitrile, such as acrylonitrile; wherein the interpolymer is solubilized by neutralizing acid groups of the interpolymer with a sufficient amount of monomeric amine to produce at least 0.200 milli-equivalents of salt per gram of resin solids; and from about 40 percent to about 95 percent by weight of a liquid medium consisting of a mixture of water-soluble or water-miscible organic solvents and water, wherein at least 60 percent by weight of the mixture is water. These cured coatings are characterized by improved impermeability to lubricants and flavor components and also better resist water at elevated temperature so as to also be useful as an exterior coating.

    • Acrylic latices containing epoxy resins are prepared by emulsion polymerization in which an epoxy resin (polyepoxide) is incorporated into at least one of the monoethylenic monomers, including an epoxy-reactive monomer, and the monomers including the epoxy resin are emulsified into water containing surfactant to provide the oil phase of an oil-in-water emulsion. The monomers are then polymerized in the aqueous emulsion using a free radical polymerization catalyst and a reaction temperature which does not cause premature reaction between the epoxy groups and the reactive monomer. This provides thermosetting latex particles of fine particle size in the presence of less emulsifying agent than is normally needed.
