    • Described herein are mechanisms and methods that facilitate seamless handoff of an access terminal between access points (transceiver modules). A first transceiver module can be providing forward link data services to an access terminal when it requests a handoff to a second transceiver module. In response, the first transceiver module can provide data that is desirably transmitted to the access terminal to the second transceiver module. A network module can inform a plurality of transceiver modules that the second transceiver module is servicing the access terminal, and can further provide data to the second transceiver module for transmittal to the access terminal.

    • A resource assignment method during a tune-away procedure comprises determining a first instance in time that a tune-away will initiate with respect to an access terminal, determining a second instance in time that corresponds to a latest frame boundary associated with the access terminal prior to the instance in time that the tune-away initiates, and determining resource assignment parameters associated with the access terminal and implementing the resource assignment parameters at the second instance in time. The method can further comprise ceasing communications to the access terminal over a forward link at the second instance in time and discontinuing monitoring reverse link control channels associated with the access terminal at the second instance in time.

    • Systems and methods are described that mitigating coverage gaps near region boundaries using a plurality of multi-sector broadcast (MSBC) paging channels in wireless networking environments. One or more MSBC paging channels can be assigned unique time slots, such that although the channels can be identical, they are disjointed in time. Accordingly, such channels and/or dynamically generated paging zones associated therewith can be overlapped in areas where wireless device density is high and requires substantial paging capacity. Additionally, a single paging channel can be employed in multiple instances in a paging region without overlap to mitigate inter-channel interference.

    • The disclosed embodiments provide for methods and systems for monitoring a paging channel. In one aspect, a method for monitoring a paging channel includes monitoring a paging channel for a page message at scheduled paging slots, determining that an error has occurred at a given paging slot, and monitoring the paging channel for a re-page message at at least one scheduled re-paging slot, where the re-paging slots occur after the given paging slot but before the next scheduled paging slot. In another aspect, a method for monitoring a paging channel includes monitoring a first one of a plurality of paging channels for a page message at scheduled paging slots, determining that an error has occurred at a given paging slot, and monitoring at least a second one of the plurality of paging channels for the page message.
