    • A sliding contact assembly comprises: at least one contact slide track; a brush holder for holding at least one brush contact member and maintaining the at least one brush contact member in sliding contact with the at least one contact slide track during relative movement between the brush contact member and the contact slide track; and a collecting container disposed to collect particles of abraded material from the at least one brush contact member; wherein a cover is provided to surround substantially the brush holder and the at least one brush contact member, the cover having walls extending along a direction of the contact slide track laterally of the brush holder and the brush contact member and along a side of the brush holder remote from the contact slide track; the collecting container is disposed at a downstream end of the cover; and the cover is designed to channel a stream of air, generated within the cover by movement of the contact slide track, towards the collecting container.

    • A device for signal transmission in computer tomographs comprising a rotating part supported to be rotatable with respect to a stationary part. A transmission controller is provided on the rotating part for compiling, from video data of a video source and from control information of a control unit, serial data for transmission to the stationary part by means of a rotary joint. A receiving controller is provided in the stationary part for receiving the serial data transmitted by the rotary joint and for evaluating these data and communicating the control information contained therein to a control unit, and the video data to a data sink. The serial data generated by the transmission controller comprise data frames, and video data and control information each being transmitted in a data frame.

    • An optical transmission system in a computer tomograph for transmitting modulated optical signals between a first unit and a second unit, the first unit being supported to be rotatable relative to the second unit, comprises: a light guide disposed along a circular or annular track on the first unit; at least one first light coupler connected with the light guide for coupling light into or out of the light guide; at least one second light coupler disposed on the second unit to be movable relative to the light guide for coupling light into or out of the light guide. In order to remove from the light guide surface any contaminating matter that would lead to a high signal attenuation or an interference with transmission, a cleaning unit is provided for removing dirt and dust particles. Furthermore, a sealing of the system is provided by applying, amongst other means, pressurized air or electrostatic filtering.
