摘要： A silent chain is disclosed in which sets of intermeshing links are connected together by means of pins received in front and rear openings in the links between two segmental bushings. Each segmental bushing is rigidly secured in the openings of one of the sets of links to form an inflexible link and bushing unit. Adjacent rigid link and bushing units pivot on each pin to provide flexibility of the chain without play or wear between the bushing segments and the links.

摘要： A transmission suitable for snowmobile use has an automatically actuated stage and a manually actuated stage. Each stage is effective to transmit power at two different speed ratios in the forward direction, and, in addition, the manually actuated stage is effective to transmit power at two different speed ratios in the reverse direction. The automatically actuated stage has two series connected trains and the manually actuated stage has a single epicyclic train. The sun gear, the planet gears, and the ring gear of the epicyclic train are continuously meshed, and changes in operation condition of the manual stage are effected by selected coupling and holding of the different units of the train, which can be done without stopping rotation of the elements of the train.

摘要： A two-speed motion transmitting mechanism is disclosed in which an input shaft has an input sprocket and the inner portion of a centrifugal clutch mounted thereon. The input sprocket is connected by a first endless chain to a sprocket mounted on an overrunning clutch which, in turn, is mounted on an auxiliary shaft. A second endless chain connects a sprocket mounted on the outer portion of said centrifugal clutch, which, in turn, has an output shaft extending centrally therefrom. Initially, the drive from the input shaft is effected through the first and second chain and the outer portion of the centrifugal clutch to the output shaft. After a predetermined speed is reached, the centrifugal clutch engages and the drive from the input shaft is effected directly through the centrifugal clutch to the output shaft.
