    • A pitching machine configured for adjustment by a user, and including a pitching head, a first macro-adjustment device and a first micro-adjustment device. The first micro-adjustment device configured for operation by a single hand of a user, and the first macro-adjustment device retaining the pitching head in a secure position during adjustment of the first micro-adjustment device.

    • A free standing net system incorporates a full sized floor for easy ball collection and a built in training target secured to a rear wall of a netted enclosure which is functional for multi-sport use. The netting of the enclosure is 1000 denier polyester, treated for long wear and UV resistance. The floor is constructed of high density nylon with a water-resistant polyurethane coating. The sleeves located at the peripheral edges of the netting are engaged by two shock-corded poles to provide a cantilevered frame portion projecting above and towards the sports enthusiast. The cantilevered frame portion is specifically designed to trap wedge shots during golf practice. Angled side wings of the netted enclosure allow free swinging motion with any golf club to provide a wide angle of capture during golf practice swings.

    • A novel class of compounds has been identified that inhibit PTP-1B through a newly discovered binding interaction. Methods of treating, preventing or delaying the onset of, conditions mediated by PTP-1B are also provided. The compounds are capable of interacting with the primary binding pocket of PTP-1B via a hydrogen bond acceptor and have an aqueous phase free energy more positive than about −1200 kJ/mol. Representative compounds in the class are those of Formula I: or an optical isomer, enantiomer, diastereomer, racemate or racemic mixture thereof, ester, prodrug or metabolite form, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein R1, R2 and/or R3 are independently hydrogen atoms or alkyl groups and G1 and G2 are aryl, heteroaryl, alkyl, arylalkanyl, arylalkenyl, arylalkynyl, heteroarylalkanyl, heteroarylalkenyl, or heteroarylalkynyl moieties.
