    • A cooking stove having a cook top, or hob, for cooking food, components thereof, and method of production. The stove has a stove body, a smooth-top cook top with a cooking surface to cook food thereon, and a heat source disposed adjacent to the cooking surface. The abstract of the disclosure is submitted herewith as required by 37 C.F.R. §1.72(b).     • A process for manufacturing open porous sintered bodies with large open pore volume and defined pore diameters and which at least predominantly consist of glass-ceramics. They are obtained by sintering a mixture of sinterable powder and an inorganic soluble salt with defined grade of grain, the melting point of which is above the densification temperature of the sinterable powder. For the formation of a molded body the mixture of sinterable powder and inorganic salt is submitted to a molding process. The molded body is sintered in a sintering process and the soluble salt being contained in the molded body is lixiviated. As a main constituent the sinterable powder contains a pulverized crystallizable glass powder. The sintering process is performed in such a way that the crystal phases being produced during the crystallization of the crystallizable glass, and therefore the material properties, too, are controlled by the guidance of the sintering process as well as by the ion exchange taking place between the sinterable powder and the inorganic salt and which is controlled by their composition. Afterwards, the sintered body is transformed to the final glass-ceramic texture.

    • A transparent, dyed cooktop is provided that has improved color display capability. The cooktop is made of a glass ceramic having high quartz mixed crystals as the predominant crystal phase, wherein the glass ceramic comprises none of the chemical refining agents arsenic oxide and/or antimony oxide, except for inevitable trace amounts. The glass ceramic has transmission values of greater than 0.1% in the range of visible light over the entire wavelength range greater than 450 nm, light transmission in the visible range of 0.8 to 5%, and transmission in the infrared at 1600 nm of 45-85%. The glass ceramic also includes a display apparatus that has a display device which is designed to display different operating conditions with different colors and/or symbols.
