摘要： A bimetallic shaped-charge liner is formed by explosively bonding two metal disks and then shear-forming the bonded disks simultaneously into a conoidal shape over a mandrel. An exemplary method for manufacturing a ductile, bimetallic, shaped-charge liner comprises the steps of explosively bonding a plate of one metal to a plate of another metal; annealing the bonded plates; cuting forming blanks from the bonded, annealed plates; shear-forming the blanks with the light metal side outward into a conoidal shape over a mandrel; and then annealing the resulting conoid.

摘要： A permanent magnet made of a pulverizable magnetic material is positioned immediately adjacent to a quantity of an explosive. An electrically conductive coil surrounds the permanent magnet and the explosive. A detonator is provided for detonating the explosive. The explosive is capable, upon detonation, of rapidly removing the magnet from inside the coil by disintegration, by collapsing the magnet or by causing high velocity omni-directional dispersal of a plurality of minute fractional parts of the permanent magnet. A single-pulse high voltage electrical signal is thereby induced in the coil.

摘要： A notched cartridge or casing is provided to mitigate the shock damage to a gun barrel or firing chamber when a cartridge with large amounts of explosive or propellant is fired. The cartridge or casing comprising a generally cylindrical shell with an open top end and a closed base is provided with an annular area near the base and a circular area on the base which have reduced wall thicknesses compared to the rest of the cartridge. The annular and circular areas have external surfaces which are inwardly displaced with respect to the outer surface of the remainder of the cartridge. Upon firing of the cartridge, the areas of reduced wall thickness expand outwardly and are plastically deformed without touching the barrel or firing chamber. Damage to the barrel and/or breech is prevented and the cartridge is easily removed for reloading of the gun system.
